| kids & electronics My cousins kids (8 & 9 years old, I think) carry their ipads around all the time, everywhere they go. They made fun of my dual extended monitors (which is very useful in my office, I use one for work & the other to watch tv shows, movies, etc.) & wireless mouse! They said this about my wireless mouse, 'whoa, a wireless mouse...you don't see that these days'. What??? hahaha!

| What? they don't use a desktop at all? I find a mouse much faster and accurate than touch screens of an ipad. You should tell them about dos.

| I found the way they talk very amusing...they haven't even been around for a decade & they talked like they were! I have a 7" Samsung Galaxy tab & rarely use it. If I do, I'm playing those fun addictive games. I just find surfing on it to be so inconvenient/uncomfortable, rather be on a desktop. Guess that's old fashioned now!

| Lol that's funny. I use my Macbook with a wireless Magic Mouse. I don't like using the touchpad if I'm at a desk, but if I'm in bed with my laptop for example, I don't mind. I just prefer the REAL mouse though if I'm working or doing a lot of typing. I don't have a desktop though - just my laptop. I use my ipad mostly for entertainment honestly or occasional internet browsing/surfing. It would annoy me to type on there for too long.

| I'm with Britster. The ipad is only used for entertainment. (on a side note, I think I like the galaxy tab better..) I also use a wireless mouse and dual monitor at work. Wouldn't have it any other way. |

| Lol, just wait until they have real research and typing to do. I love my iphone and want an ipad, but they're really only good for games, reading, and light browsing. Touch monitors seem like they would be uncomfortable to use. My friend has one and her 7 year old was confused when she had to use the mouse for the computers at my house. I'm 24 and love technology, yet I don't understand the need for it in many things today. To me it's just more things to have go wrong, be expensive to fix, and possible to hack. |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I'm all for the wireless mouse. I only use my Nexus to check email quick and play games. For real computer stuff, I like a desktop and not a touch screen...or my laptop.

| I have a Macbook Air which is my primary computer for personal use, they would really love me because I have not even advanced to a wireless mouse I still use the old Apple Magic Mouse that plugs into the USB port. I will admit I do use my IPad a lot in the evening, mostly for entertainment while watchng TV.

| LOL Evolution of technology: Me to my parents: "Mom, you should get a computer. You'd enjoy facebook and Pinterest and playing soliatre." My kids to me: My kids to me are like.."Mom, get rid of this desktop computer. Get up with times already. Everything is portable and touch screen nowadays." About their grandparents, "did you see grandpa's computer....it's so old and dusty, it probably doesn't even work cuz it got a virus or something..." Future-my grandkids to their parents: "Mom, don't you know how to run that robot? Just speak into the speaker! Geesh!" You're so old! Let me show you with mine.... Oh, Did you see grandma's (me) ipad? She still has touchscreen! Man, that must be hard. What's facebook anyway?
