| Eventful Day Well today has been eventful....This morning Kelly woke up with a sore throat. We go to the doctor to find out she has strep throat. She called into work to say she wouldn't be able to make it in today...So she stayed at home all day. I had to close at work today and got home about 10:15 or so. We finish watching the Hogans on VH1 then go lay in bed to watch a movie. I put in the "Dukes of Hazzard". Just as the movie finished and we turned off the lights to go to sleep Karlee, our female dog, started to act like she was going to throw up. I ran her into the bathroom and she threw up all over me and the floor 3 times. So after I get done cleaning it up I hear a loud vehicle outside and my car alarm cherp the warning sound. I figure what the hell, after the problems with our neighbors about our loud exhaust, I will go see what car was loud enough to set off my alarm. I go out and there is a white mid 90's model Chevy silverado extended cab parked next to my car. At first I thought it might be some guy dropping his girlfriend off. but no one got out of the truck....I stood and watched for about 5 minutes longer and no one got out. I came back inside and kelly said get the tag number. I couldn't see it from where I was so I had to act like I was getting something out of my car. I went out and grabbed a DVD from Blockbuster and got the tag. turns out there were 3 guys sitting in the car. I came back in and called the apartment security. A few minutes later I hear the truck start up and I go out to see where it was going. It doesn't leave the apartment complex. I then put a leash on Bentley, the boy dog, to take him for a "casual" potty walk. I really wanted to see where the truck was. I walked the long way around the apartments and spotted it on the back side of the complex parked next to another car in a darker parking space. They couldn't see me. I called Kelly from there and had her call the police to get an officer out there ASAP. I put the dog up and spoke with the disbatcher. When I got off the phone I went down the backside of the apartments and watched from a safe distance behind a stairway to see if they left or not. They stayed there in the truck. The morons parked by a motion light that would flash on and off. No one ever said crooks were smart. About 15 minutes later I saw the cop pull in and went back around the apartments to tell him where the truck was. He creeped up on the truck and yelled at the driver to get out and cuffed him. As of right now the cop is still over there with his spotlight on the truck and all of them in the back of the car. The cop has been there for 45 minutes. I am really thankful that my dog got sick...I probably saved myself my tv or someone else a lot of money. It has been a very interesting night. -Brett

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | Oh man!! You should never have gone outside !! PLEASE let the cops handle that stuff - you could have been hurt or killed ....I lived in apartments most of my life and was robbed & worse....it is the scariest thing that can ever happen to you - NEXT TIME - make the call and STAY PUT ...Lock all doors - put a barricade up if you can and sit there with a weapon (if you have one).... but do not leave your house !! |
