| Ralph Lauren designed US Olympic uniforms made in China DOH! How embarrassing! And take a look at these prices! Almost $2000 for a uniform. I saw one article claiming the blazers alone cost almost $800. "The Team USA ceremony beret is $55; the classic fit shirt is $89.50; the tie is $125; the men's double breast blazer is $795; the belt costs $85; flat front men's trousers are $295; and the shoes are $165." Team USA uniforms are made in China - Live5News.com | Charleston, SC | News, Weather, Sports I'm sorry, but you can get a hand made one from Italy for that price. Now I KNOW the Chinese people who made these uniforms were not paid half of the retail. So who's making all the money here? Ralph. Let's see, if it were me, and my company got the HONOR of producing the US Olympic uniforms, I would offer to do it for FREE! The honor in doing the job alone is worth the payment. And not only that, but to have the bragging rights afterwards as well! Never cared for RL label. Now even worse in my book. BBC News - London 2012: US Ralph Lauren uniform made in China And now that there's been so much heat on him, he's promised to make next year's made in the US.

| I agree that RL should have done the work for free. Isn't that the way it worked in the past with designers of the US team's opening/closing ceremonies garb? The clothes should be produced here too.

| With as many Americans out of work, it is a disgrace that the American Olympic Team's Uniforms were made in China. I wouldn't have a problem with the $$ part of it, if Ralphie had used the opportunity to put American seamstresses to work! It's not just RL, it's who contracted with him to provide the uniforms! | I believe that most of Ralph Lauren's (America's iconic designer) clothing is made in China. Aside from the fact that the 2012 Olympic outfits were planned on being manufactured in China, they are just awful looking!

| I finally looked at the picture of the uniform -- Ewww -- a huge RL emblem on one side of the blazer and a huge RL shield on the other. Why don't they just sell advertising rights on the back of the jacket too and make them look like NASCARs.
