| Freak snow storm in fall!!! We got snow! Tons of it! Yuck! Trees down, power out, poles broken in 2. We have power lines down on the driveway so we had to snow blow the yard to get out! It's a real mess here!! Luckily we have a generator so we have heat, water and the fridge and lights, it's almost like not losing electricity. But it's bad here! Booooo Our road was impassable but a bunch of neighbor guys got together and cut the tree. It was on power lines though, so they did not move it, just cut out the middle segment. All night we saw bright orange flashes from arcing transformers! Its because the trees had too any leaves still on them and the snow was the wet heavy kind, so it uprooted trees and broke huge limbs!

I don't know much/anything about powerlines, but if they cut the tree, would that not have also caused them a potential problem had the line been active?

| Yes, I guess they knew it was not active lines anymore so it was ok. It is creepy here. Tons of destruction. Like nothing I've ever seen in my lifetime for sure.

| Wow. Mother Nature sure had an October surprise and not a good one. That sounds scary and dangerous. Stay as safe as possible and hopefully your state will dig out of this early this week. I am so sorry you all are having to deal with all of this!

| Still no power, going on 40 hours now. I heard it could be a week before we get it back! Luckily we have a generator, but it's about $25 a day to run it. Uugghh. Guess that's better than losing all our food.

♥Trained by my pups♥ Donating YT 500 Club Member | That's way to early for the white stuff. Makes a long winter. Hope you get electricity soon. Nothing worse then snow, cold and no power.

| I'm in the same boat! Except no generator Power went out at 10:30pm Saturday. Luckily, I have power at work and my little buddy Jaxon is with me, nice and warm. We have a small heater at home, but it only heats one room and it's no fun sitting in one room with nothing to do but stare at the candles, lol. I keep calling my house phone to see if we have power yet...no luck!
