| Homing Pigeon made our home his! Well here we go again.. if you all remember for the 3rd year in a row a Robin has made her nest in my wreath outside by my back door.. well I let her be.. but now I have a HOMING Pigeon roosting on my porch on top of the light on my back patio now. I feel so bad for it cuz its cold here and snowing. From the looks of the piles of Pigeon Poop its been here at least a month! My neighbor found him and told us. I didn't even know it was there..lol.. well anyway .. its really friendly and pretty.. but messy. Sooooo my neighbor caught it for me and we got its number off its band and I went on the internet and found its owner. I guess they said its been gone for 6 weeks.. well it has had a good home here.. lots of older people here that has bird feeders and there is a big pond across the street from me for where its gets its water. I am so happy its owner came this morning to get him. I was so worried about him.. I couldn't sleep worrying about him freezing or starving.. My husband thinks I am crazy but I am a animal lover.. no matter what kind of animal it is.. well spider and snakes excludes that list.. haha.. well anyway its on its way home now.. I can relax now and My furbabies can too.. They wouldn't leave the slider on the door because they can see it and they would bark at it..so now they can rest too! Here is a picture of him.. I named him Paddy the Pigeon

| LOL I was thinking the same way... I'm glad you thought to try to catch him and look up the band number. I would just think it was a wild bird and try to shoo it away! Glad it finally went home

| I was telling my fiance about your bird experience and he said you sound like me...worrying about the poor animals being cold outside. Enjoy your new roommates.

| From what the owner of the bird told us was that sometimes the Homing pigeon can lose its way.. This pigeon wasn't even a year old. In Training.. They have like a pigeon race and sometimes they lose their way. Especially if the weather has been bad.. We had some snow and rain and sleet .. etc.. it had to be here at least 5 weeks he said.. He has been missing it for 6weeks . It just found our house ... seems all birds like our house.. and animals.. We had a skunk have babies in our flower bed this last summer. Thank God I seen them before my furbabies found them.. We have had a herd of dear looking in our dining room window one time.. and we have had wild turkeys, rabbits, phesants, gophers, you name it.. My husband gets mad at me cuz I don't want him to have them exterminated or taken away,. haha.. I say they are all God's Creatures and they were put here for a purpose.. Other than Snakes and spider.. I don't want them here.. lol..
