Donating YT 1000 Club Member | Lets talk make up I come to you my YT sisters for great needed help. Last night, I went to You Tube and started checking make up tutorials, which made me realized, I urgently need to empty my make up drawer and re stock. My make up, is who knows how old,any brand on sale at the time, dry mascara, I found 3 same color lip liners! For some reason, all my lipsticks are different shades of brown.. The consiller (s/p) I use, I've notice that gets into my pores, making them more noticeable. I get the raccoon look with the white stuff to cover my under eye bags. I've been doing everything wrong, and at 48, I need all the help I can get.. -What's the one product you can't live without? -Ant tips and tricks on application -Brush vs Sponge All suggestions are welcome!

| I don't have bags, but I do have some black under my eyes. The trick to applying concealer under your eye is first never rub it in. Use your wedding finger to pat the concealer in , trust me it works, then cover the concealer with a little darker shade cover up than the concealer is, maybe 1 shade darker. The concealer should be either your shade or one shade lighter than your skin. The best product I think out there for lightening the skin under your eyes is Sephora: Shiseido White Lucent Brightening Eye Treatment: Eye Treatments I have used this and it really lightens up that area and considering how expensive and how most of these supposed skin products work, I have found nothing comes closer to this product and the price is moderate. Good Luck |

| Okay! Now this is a subject I can confidentially speak on with great experience!! So here are some of the products that I absolutely cannot live without as a stylist and make-up artist! And just before we get started you will need to go to a sephora store for most of these or go online to sephora.com For starters and for those of us who do not have a 21 year old face, a beautiful end result starts with a face that has been moisterized and primed! My moisterizer of choice is "Hope in a Jar" by philosophy! It is light, has an spf and does the job!! Then directly after you moisterize use smashbox "photo finish" which is like a face lift in a pump! It is clear, soft and makes your make-up go on like silk and prevents things from sitting in wrinkles!! Gives a flawless end result to your make-up! The next most important thing in a make-up bag is good brushes! If you haven't bought them in awhile go get them from target by sonia kashuk! She makes fantastic brushes that do not cost an arm and a leg like at sephora!! Concealer and Foundation: concealer: I love Maybelline "Age Rewind" because it doesn't sit in wrinkles and is extra creamy! To prevent the racoon look get as close to your natural skin color as possible! Get this at any local drug store! foundation: There is absolutely nothing better than mineral make-up! If you haven't tried it you are missing out! It makes a face look flawless, is actually so good for your skin you can sleep in it, doesn't sit in wrinkles, and doesn't give you that thick, cakey, powdery look! My favorite brand is bare essentials and they make a starter kit with 2 different shades to mix for the perfect color depending on whether its summer or winter (we are more tan in the summer) an instructional video, several brushes, a bronzer (which I also swear by) and a finishing powder! You can get the whole thing at sephora! Blush: I love a mineral blush because it works with the mineral foundation so pick a shade you like from the endless amount of choices at the bare essentials counter at sephora or online! Eyeshadow: my favorite brand for eyeshadow is tarte which also can be found at sephora! the reason I like this brand is because it has high pigment which means you don't have to dip your brush a million times to get good color! It is also long lasting and doesn't crease at the end of the day! They have a beautiful pallette that comes with 8 different eyeshadows,a dual ended eyeliner and a dual ended eyeshadow brush! I think its like $38 and comes in a quilty purple case. I Love Tarte eyeliners as well! They are soft and go on beautifully! Shimmer powder: love smashbox shimmer bricks! It's light shimmery powder that you put right on the outside corner of your eye bone and in the corners of your eyes and it brightens the face! Found at sephora! Mascara: My favorites are dior show mascara, urban decay big fat lashes, too faced lashblast they are all lengthening and give you that fake eyelash look without clumping! All can be found at sephora! Lipstick: for a good neutral lip I love urban decay wicked lipliner with stila gloss called "watermelon!" I also do reds, deep burgundys and peachy colors. But lipstick is way more personal so if you tell me what type of lip you want to do I could probably tell you what liner and lipstick to look at! So those are my top fav picks! If you have any other questions on specific products I would be happy to answer !! :-) Have a great day!! |

| And yes primer helps to hide fine lines and mineral make-up has better coverage in my opinion than liquid! Just thought I would add that! |

I have a few favorite eyeshadows, mac, dior, & bobbi brown. Mascaras, Mabelline Full and Soft & Dior show. Looking foward to trying some new products

| Okay, I am 21, but I love some good make-up! I go for a natural, sun-kissed look Mascara: DIORShow or Benefit BadGal Lash -- they both have a HUGE brush that makes your eyelashes super long and full. Since I am blonde, it makes my eyelashes more noticeable too. Bronzer: CARGO bronzer I like MAC LipGlass (party-time) and also Benefit Lip Stain (natural) I am not a good person to ask about foundation as I hardly wear it -- but when I do I use Clinique. Daily, I use a mineral powder on my face, and that's it. |

| I think it's also a hit and miss, meaning, not every product will work the same for every individual. You keep trying till you see what works best with your skin. For me I use washes and moisturizers from Clinique, but for others Clinique may be to drying, all depends . JMO |

| Can I ask a question about the mineral powder? So, I have dark circles around my eyes (upper and lower) - it's a hereditary thing - and I have to use concealer. If I use the mineral makeup as my foundation, can I use it over the concealer that I already use? I've hesitated buying the mineral stuff because they all say that you should use their concealer also but that's just a powder (right??) and doesn't have the coverage that I need. I now only use dabs of concealer in certain spots on my face and Lancome loose and pressed powder. I haven't used "foundation" in so long because I could never find one that wasn't oily looking or didn't cake up on me. I guess it's not doing too bad for me because people are always surprised to hear me say I don't use foundation. There are just times that I would like a more full coverage - like winter-time when my complexion gets sallow. And if you think I should try the mineral powder as a foundation, which one should I try? We don't have a Sephora here but we have an Ulta.

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | On the Smashbox photo finish, do you find it too thick to apply? I read a few reviews last night and they recommend Laura Mercier instead.

| First of all on the mineral make-up...it is a huge misconception that because it is in powder form that it has less coverage than the liquid stuff! Trust me when I tell you that it has more coverage than the liquid does! and you can use a lot or a little and it won't look like you have a mask on like with the liquid stuff! I always feel like my skin can't breathe when I have on liquid make-up! Look at my picture! That is all mineral make-up on my face and trust me I have stuff that I really need to cover! Also I use regular concealer with my mineral foundation and actually apply a little of the mineral make-up over the concealer to set it and it works great! I personally like a liquid concealer which is why I use the maybeline and set it like I said with the concealer brush that comes in the mineral make-up bare essentuals starter kit! On the smash box photo finish...it is so light that it is almost weightless and goes on super thin. What I do is put it on the back of my hand first and kind of spread it out with my fingers on the back of my hand and then use little bits on my face so it goes on evenly! I have used just about every primer on the market and I think this one is hard to beat! It actually covers fine lines, wrinkles and fills in pores! And if you buy the regular size pump it would probably last you a year using it every day! They do have a travel size one that lasts about 6 months and its a more less expensive way to try it and not totally commit until you are sure you like it! Hope that helps! If I can answer anything else let me know! If you have a sephora near you I strongly suggest that you go because you can go and try everything on or have a make-up artist help you with your individual needs! Its so much better than having to go to a department store make-up counter where you feel like if you touch something they will smack your hand! :-) you have help if you want it at sephora and they leave you alone if you don't! The return policy is great too! If you get something home and decide you hate it they will take it back!! LOVE THAT!! |

| I just went and had my make done by a make up artist for a trial on Bare Minerals. Let me tell you I liked it so much, I bought 2 sets right then and there. I thought that bare minerals was for older people, (not sure why I thought that, I guess because its not advertised as much as everything else on t.v) Im 24, and I just love it. I guess Im getting out of that stage of wearing bright eyeshadows and dark eyes. This is a more natural look and it just looks great, and reallye evens out your tone. At the end of applying your foundation and concealer, you brush on a tinted mineral veil and it locks in your make up for the entire day. I dont have to reapply it when Im headed to my second job and I love that! I also learned how to apply my eye liner with there fashinista mineral and I was always big on eye liner with a pencil, but it definitly changes the way your eyes look and I like it, its a much softer look, which is really nice!
