| Little laptop I am thinking about getting one of the small laptops. Do any of you have one and if so what kind. I was wandering which one is best? I looked at Walmart.com, they have a Dell, an Acer and another brand that I can't remember I think the screen is only like 10" but I would think perfect for travel. Would appreciate your input.

| My son has the HP touch smart small lap top. He loves it. It seems to do everything our larger laptops do, and the battery lasts forever.

| I have the Dell Mini 10v that I use for travel but also a lot around the house. At first I thought we would just use it when we travel but I have found that I keep it downstairs for quick internet searchs. Beforfe the Dell I had an Acer which was smaller, my ex employer gave them to use as Christmas gifts in 2008, I decided to give that one to my niece since she had a baby and it was easier for her to haul around in a diaper bag. She still uses the Acer also with no problems.

| Today I looked at three different ones. One being an HP, an Acer, a Dell. Price wise, the HP seemed like the best buy. I don't know, I am going to keep shopping around. It seems like they all come pretty much standard with the same memory, hard drive, etc. I have att for my cell phone service, they had an offer to buy the HP online for 199.99 but you had to get a data pkg. I don't need that. I have DSL at home, the whole point was for it to be wireless. I will just have to buy a router. The ones I looked at for from 300. and up.

| Hey Betty! What kind of netbook was it? ATT has several to choose from, I'd say that Verizon does too.

| I have a 10" Dell... I got it from Dell Outlet, they usually have GREAT prices. I LOVE it and I take it everywhere with me. I do 95% of my internet stuff on it now and its held up well (I got it almost a year ago)

| March 2009 I bought an Acer 9". It lasted 3 wks and kept shutting itself down so I sent it back. I was checking the website for Sam's club and they had a Dell min 9 for $225. I ordered it & it was my primary computer until I bought my new Dell desktop last month. The Dell mini is a workhorse. I love using it. The only website there was a problem with was the Webkinz. My grand-d could not see the entire screen when she tried to get on there. I use the mini when I work out of town. Love it.

| I have an Acer Aspire One...and I LOVE it! It's hard to get used to typing on a smaller keyboard, but after about a week you get used to it. |

| I have a friend who has one and she hates (now, not when she first got it) how small the screen is. Plus, because of it's size it doesn't have a CD/DVD rom in it either (again, this is just with hers, not sure about all of them?). I looked at those myself a couple of months ago when I wanted to purchase my first laptop. I went to Best Buy so that I could play with all of them, and in the end I went with a 15' Dell, and it was only a couple hundred dollars more, and had so many more upgrades in it! You have to go with what works best for you though, just thought I would give you my opinion on them!

| I ended up ordering the HP 210 series. It will be in next week. I hope I like it. The keyboard I tried out in the store seemed fine. I am kind of concerned about the screen, it's only 10.1. Oh well....I'll just have to wear my glasses more lol. For those of you that have them, did you get any of the accessories? Do you actually need any of them? I will just be on the internet and checking email on mine.

| From experience. I've always been a Sony Vaio fan and just recently purchased a big all in one Vaio. I needed something for just surfing the net when I'm watching TV and I did not want to spend a lot on a laptop since I'd primarily being using the big Vaio. I bought an Acer Netbook whicgh has a 10.1 screen. I opted to buy it from Cosco as they have a 90 return policy. I tried it a week and LOVED IT. I then decided since I knew I was comfortable with the size to upgrade and go for a Sony Vaio netbook. I was so dispointed in the Vaio, that I sent it back to Sony and went back and bought the much cheaper Acer. From experience I can honestly say that that $299 Acer is all you will need. It by far beat out the $449 Sony Vaio. Now HP has a netbook as well for around $350 (Also at Cosco) but honestly I would not waste the money. I'd go with the Acer. I'm sure you'll be thrilled and if you're not as I said Cosco has a 90 unconditional return policy. Elaine |
