| PLEASE talk me out of this!!!! I went to pick up the monkeys today after work and there was a sign up! Wyatt is a 5 month old tabby cat who was left at the emergency clinic by unknown people one night. He had a very bad virus and lost one eye and is almost blind in the other. He is being sheltered at the vet next to the daycare (simon and hallie's vet, a very wonderful man) and up for adoption! He has the sweetest little kitten face I have ever seen and I'm not much of a "cat person" at all. I went to meet him, he is so sweet and played with Simon and Hallie. Here are my issues: 1. I'm allergic (but I could take medicine, right?) 2. I know nothing about kittens/cats But I can't stand to leave him there! I'm taking a flyer to work tomorrow in hopes someone will go get him, if not I don't know what I will do! Need advice |

| Even if you did take medicine, shots, etc., you'd have to go through a lot of misery B4 you felt better, if ever. The meds would make you sleepy, even if they're non-drowsy, and the shots may not work. I'd definately pass, but that's just me.

| I would pass too if I were you. Your heart is in the right place but you can't even begin to imagine what you could be in for besides your obvious allergies. Cleaning out litter boxes is fun, possible spraying issues is also another fun one, but most of all it will disgust you beyond anything imaginable when your baby jumps up to kiss you and has litter hanging from his/her little beard and breath that will make you choke. I am not a cat person either as I am sure you can tell but my daughter is and I have had these cats for 10 years and they haven't grown on me yet. As a matter a fact one got out last night when I was bringing Teddy out for his business run and you don't even know how tempted I was to just let the thing run, but nope I couldn't do it so there I was at 2 in the morning chasing a cat around the back yard. Don't do it!!! Sorry cat lovers but that's JMO...

| Kim, I used to HATE cats. We had them while I was growing up, but they were my mom's cats and I rarly touched them. My dad used to have long hair cats, and everytime I came home from his house my allergies went nuts because of the long hair. My mom's cat died and we got a kitten and I fell in love! The short hair has never bothered me. Olivia and my cat get along so well- they play and wrestle all night long. What's meant to be will be. If you're supposed to have that cat, no one else will ask about it. I know someone who had a totally blind cat- they adapt to their surrounding very well. Good luck in whatever you decide! |

| OH I just noticed you said HE. Man oh man boy cats are love bugs but the spraying is enough to make the kids hate you and a husband divorce you if you insisted on keeping the cat. Spraying is NASSSTY. I breed cats and can't stand it!!!! I used to have 3 boys and I had to cut down to only one because of this. Actually I am thinking of giving up the breeding , just because the spraying!!!!!!! It is seriously getting to me and I LOVE animals!!!!!!!!!

I have the same problem long hair cats within 20 to 30 minutes my allgeries flare up so bad I would look like I had been on a crying spree all nite lol...Now short hair cats , oh boy I love them..I wish that I could have one, but the honey is allergic to them and no way would he would take allergy meds so I could get one, and he IS an animal lover too. Girl I know your heart is into this furbaby but do you really want to have to put a pill ( chemical ) into your body. I think you should pass on the cat and just tell Megan where to go and pick it up LOL
