| I need some home assistance PLEASE! im so upset..we have some neighbors that dont take care of ANYTHING..we have been here for almost 4 yrs they have been here a year longer... the grass is waist high! the are bigs dogs and dirt...the wife no longer does anything inside because she is leaving her husband yet he doesnt know it..her last day at work in this wed and she starts a new job about 3 hours away from here, next week. he is lazy as %^*. no one will loan them a lawn mower anymore, they have broken ours twice...i have had to call animal control last weekend because they locked one of the dogs in a shed all weekend and it was 85 degress outside..his mom moved in and she is for real a crack head, nasty never baths! well i have to hang my clothes right now because the dryer broke and i told the landlord she could wait until my husband gets time to look at it before replacing it..so im was hanging the clothes i really enjoy it..weird i know..anyways im using a wicker basket, i set it down with a couple of kitchen towels in it..walked to the other side of the counter and a few minutes later i saw a flippin roach! come from the basket! i killed it! and i got really self consciencious, i mean my house has toys and stuff thrown about 80% of the time but not nasty with food and trash every where...so my husband re asured me its probably from out side no worries..then we had a bunch of people over tonight and we were commenting on the neighbosr yards and the we could see the bugs hovering around the front yard, a little while later i saw another flippin roach this time on my front porch i made sure to kill it but i dont what this stuff in my house, what can i do!? i hate to bother the landlord i dont want her to think its us, i know she knows about the neighbors yard because she lives on the same street and already commented that she is calling their landlord to let him know whats going on with the house and yard but my biggest concern is how to keep them from getting into my house, can anyone help? Thanks |

| I'd call your landlord asap! Once those cockroaches are in the walls...your doomed! Is there an ordinance in your town regarding the lawn and such? I would take it to your landlord.. in the end if you were to move out because of this, it will end up being a problem to re-rent your place.

| would roaches come from the neighbors place? by my description i mean? i know that the ppl on the other side said they can watch the rats come out and they were laying down poision, but my husband asked them to stop because we were finding dead birds in the back yard and were afraid the dogs would get sick. so they guy said sure, but our landlord who also owns that property (the guy laying down the poision) said he started shooting the rats and tacking them on the neighbors (with the nasty yard and house) back gate. im in cleaning mode and bleaching everything, my carpet shampooer has a crack in it and its not working so (brand new) so i guess i need to get a new one...i had that shampooer a month, when the washing machine was flooding in the kitchen and i didnt know it and i ran in there to change the water in the shampooer and fell and broke it =( i had such a great buy on it too! |

| Besides doing everything you can to report them I would find Bengal roach spray. I don't know if they sell it in your area but you can buy it online. It is the best roach and flea spray ever. It will not hurt your pets or children. Betty |

| Without pointing finger's are anyone can you call the landlord and explain what you saw. Maybe the complex has a exterminator on call, free of charge to any resisdent. Where I live they come free. The complex wants to be sure that if there is a problem with anything the extermintor is available to anyone who needs one, keeping all the units free of any pests. You won't know unless you give him a call. Good luck, |

| i called my landlord after talking to my mom she is calling their landlord, and letting him know that its disgusting over there and she is concerned for her two properties on either side, that she has had both neighbors complain to her. i didnt like that she is mentioning that the wife is leaving because the wife hast told her husband but then again she has told both neighbors..so i guess really she wont know who told, but im guessing she will figure it out, i just dont want any confrontations. |

YorkieTalk Newbie! | Tammy~~~ I would let my landlord know~ It IS because of the neighbors! You can buy these little round disks that are harmless to pets~ but do need to tuck them away under stoves & such to help kill and prevent roaches. But I would also hand the receipt over to the landlord to have it taken off of your rent! It's a tax right off for them~ Or perhaps it's just time to move! I know that's hard~ but having them for neighbors must be harder. There usually is a law about the grass. Call all the authorities you can over every situation that arises. That's what the law is for!! Maybe these scoundrels will leave themselves!! Yes~ fight back with the power of the Law! Quote:

| thanks the wife is leaving this week actually the husband and his mom are, to be blunt arent smart enough or responsible enough to make the rent and utilities so they should be gone shortly after. she is doing drugs and is living off the state, and he wont work more then 25-30 hrs as a cook making no money, has no dr license and wont get one to improve hisself...or make his marriage work because thats all she has asked of him in the last year, but there is alot more going on in that relationship too..they are too imature i feel bad for their landlord im sure the home will be a big dissappointment but then again he only lives 15 minutes away he needs to check on it occassionally. i called my land lord and the county (emailed the compliant section) my landlord is calling their landlord. i wouldnt want to move i love this house and my landlord really is good to us. we wont move until we buy, which we tried doing a few months back. im hoping they will be gone soon and the house will get some major cleaning done..hell i would do it if they would pay me about 5000.00-7500.00 including cleaning materials, the rest is goinng to need to be repairs, the house needs to power washed it has green mold all on one side...i dont know if the smell will leave..someone will after to take all the furniture out and if there is carpet upstairs like mine it needs to go..the smell is so bad that you smell it on the front steps, and into the glass porch. its a weird smell like dirty wet dog or something alot of things are broken, the child has drawn on all the walls...and the wife was like it keeps her quiet..WTH?? my kids draw on the wall and they get in trouble..i tell them to stop being little (their kid's name)..lol |
