| Bad cold or flu. I'm hoping SOMEONE has some remedies. I've been sick since Sunday... today has been the worst day. I went to school, thank god class was only two hours. I was miserable beyond belief. I have a runny nose. It's been running since the minute I woke up... and it still continues. I've used a whole box of tissues and a roll of soft toiler paper. What are some good things to take for a runny nose? I've tried Advil Cold and Sinus and Sudafed ... I've taking Tylenol cold but anything tylenol doesn't work. What's better for my raw nose... vaseline or lotion, did you get better results with either? My mom is bringing me some Nyquil, but I'm hoping for some suggestions during the day. I'll be home all day tomorrow, not going to school or work. I've been able to fight off multiple colds this winter with high doses of Vit. C. Didn't work this time around Help, please! Oh yeah, I don't know if this will help with suggestions but I have a slight fever of 100.1, didn't go down with advil and my whole body feels like it's been beat up. I also think my heads going to explode.

YT Graphic Artist Donating Member | Ugh, sounds like what I just went through. What a terrible virus it was. I was down for several days. I had all the symptms you do, plus coughing and chest pain. I took all the normal stuff, Advil cold & sinus, Sudafed, etc. but the best thing seemed to be Theraflu - the hot lemon liquid stuff. I took Robitussin DM - but I'm sure Nyquil will be good too. I hope you feel better soon!

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | Welcome to the Club!!! We've been dealing with this flu for almost 2 weeks now, by the time my husband was better, I got it, then my kids -Tylenol or Advil/Motrin what ever works best for you, it wont cure you, but just wont let you feel the body aches and all the symptoms of the flu. -Plenty of fluid, rest ( if possible) - I started doing this and really works, hot water, just like if it was for coffee, a lemon or lime, and honey, I like how it tastes and makes my chest feel so much better. -For your nose Vaseline, do not use napkins to blow your nose, only tissues or t.p, and keep blowing, it is the only way you can get rid of all that nasty stuff. - Wash your hands often. Out of all the over the counter cold remedies, the one I like the best is Theraflu, the same xsmas baby75 recommended, with NyQuil I've notice that it makes me feel better right away, but then the symptoms come back worse than before. Now, all these are only remedies, but there is a lot of pneumonia going around, and you need to be careful and check your symptoms, if you dont get better, you may want to see your Dr. Hope you get better soon! ...Oh my, I just read all these, and I sound just like my grandmother

| Influenza sure is sticking around for a long time this year. We just started getting it here about a week and a half ago, and it seems to linger.

| Plain old benadryl works best for a runny nose.

| Hi everyone. Thanks for the suggestions! I'll try some, because I'm tired of being sick. I can usually still function when I'm sick but this one has hit me hard! I took some Nyquil and went to sleep and slept for 11 hours. My head is still hurting a whole lot, and my nose isn't runny, just stuffed up. We'll see if it comes back, hope not! I took some dayquil and I'll see if we have any theraflu, in the mean time I'll try some hot water. You guys are awesome, once again thanks for the suggestions
