Registering name with AKC... This may be in the wrong area...sorry. But has anyone here registered their kennel name with AKC? Im getting ready to do send in my paperwork tomorrow so that these other people will stop using my name. Is there anyway to stop this? I am still trying to get my show lines the way I want them and dont want my name (KB is in front of all my babies names) associated with these other people in anyway. To be honest, the dogs they are breeding really should not be bred. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, i have tried contacting these other people, but they still have not responded..

| I could be wrong, but dont you have to be an exhibitor to get your kennel registered with AKC? I havent read the AKC instructions and stipulations in a few years. But thats what I thought I read.

You have to show your yorkies (which I do), and your stud has to produce 10 litters in 5 years, but since I have only been doing this for 2 I can get a provisional reg. for a set amount of time until my stud produces 10 litters in 5 years and we get into more shows. All of this I already knew, i wanted to speak with those who had already gone through this process.

Name I guess it might boil down to who had (was using) the name first. Of course you could register your kennel name with the club but it still may not stop other's from using it as their's in "general". Sorry I'm no help am I? LOL Good luck to you.

Hey Robbie, thanks...I was using it first, I made it from the first letters of my kids names. This new "kennel" came up the end of september and I really dont want my babies in anyway confused with their babies...
