Peeka Boo I See You! Donating Member | Well i had a huge problem with ear wigs and ants a few years back we had 3 small pine type trees in our garden well i hated them and when we ripped them out we found out where all the bugs were coming from. It seems the needles that fell made a wonderful breeding ground for everything and there were colonies of earwigs in the thousands after we ripped them out i have never had a problem. Flies on the other hand in the summer are horrible ugghhh we get the ones that don't land on anything they like to fly right in the middle of the room in groups lol I started buying the hanging fly tape it's like $0.99 for a pack of 4 and they work great. There is also this amazing spray i love it, it's made by Ortho and you can get it at walmart for like $5-6 dollars it's called something like ortho home defense indoors it's in a clear see through green spray bottle like windex bottle with a yellow top and this will kill a fly, bee or any bug in mid flight they drop right out of the air it also repells them from coming in if you spray around your doors and windows( like ants and earwigs). It's all natural and safe around pets (however i don't reccomend spraying around pets like directly on them just in case but it does say you can use it as a flea treatment for your pet) My son got ahold of it and drank some i freaked called poison controll and they said he would be fine it was all safe lol.

| I've seen people in TN. hang water above the door and the flys won't come in. They cut off the tops of plastic milk containers leaving the handle and hang with a thick cord or bungie. It does work even if it isn't the prettiest of decorations hehe! Earwigs are also found in trees. We had a devil of a time keeping them out of our apple tree. I mixed up water and black pepper and sprayed the tree each week and that kept them off. I leave the ants alone if they stay outside because they eat flea larva.

| I'm in MI and all the houseflies are in the house because its getting so cold at night. They are flocking to the warmth.

| With mine anyways, they seem to have swarmed into the garage when the door is open, since that is slightly warmer than the outside air. Then, since we are a large family, have plenty of time to fly into my house when the door opens. They are all over my outside screens trying to catch some warmth from the windows, and all over my doors, so when a door opens (most outside doors swing into the house), the flies are in.
