| Oh my, I have two really good tips. First (learn from my mistake!!)..... never fall asleep in a laid back recliner wearing a silk robe and holding a baby! It's kinda funny now but that happened to me 14 years ago. Luckily there was a big basket that had my dog's pound puppy and other stuffed animals in it sitting right next to/behind the recliner and when my couple months old daughter SLID out of my arms after I fell asleep, she landed safely in that pile of softness. Never even woke her up but it freaked me out! LOL Second one..... For diaper rash, drool rashes and heat/cold weather rashes on the face, I have found that nothing is better than Aquafor. If you can't find it at the store, ask the pharmacist. They sometimes have it behind the counter. It looks like vaseline but works like magic! I bought a big tub of it when mine were babies and seriously, just cleaned that tub out not long ago. It works for chapped lips and other dry patches so we got much use out of it even after the baby stages. I actually had a friend tell me that her son had a diaper rash so severe that it was almost bleeding and that nothing was working on it and she was at her wits end. I told her to try Aquafor and she said it was gone after two days. Would have worked even faster if she would have used it sooner. Hope it will work for you too! Congrats!! Can't wait to "meet her"!!

| Good Morning What a awesome thing to wake up to this morning!!! I have a DR.s appt. at 11:15 today to see if they are doing a c sectin or what. This was the perfect day for the baby shower it sure helped me stop thinking about what the DR. will say. Those are GREAT tips. I will defiantly have to pick up some auqafor and try it. I have a silk gown and will probably never wear it during Sydney's infant stage.....one of my huge fears is falling asleep with the baby! Cindy you are BEAUTIFUL inside and out! Hugs, Angie |

| I am back. I have been SO upset, had a good cry then remembered this thread and decided to have a good day after all ( Thank y'all SO much for being here and making a special day for me and Sydney ) She is still breach I just knew they were going to give me a date to do the section, but noooo I have to go in labor plus have a section b/c they haven't followed me and can't be certain of the due date. I am considered full term even with the farthest date they could give, so I don't understand and just expected they would set a date. I do like the DR. but I just feel like I have no say in anything or have any options, but I can understand her postion also coming into this so late. She offered to have me see a specialist to see if they could turn her its only a 50/50 chance it would work and she is moving so much she would likely turn her self back around if they were able to flip her. I declined that and the nurse could tell I had been crying when she called my cell so the DR. called me back and said she could schedule a section if I wanted to have the procedure that they stick the neddle into the sac and test the fluid for Sydney's age or lung maturity,. but I lost one baby before there is no way I am sticking and poking around her. So, I will just have to go into labor breach at some point. Angie |

| I'm sure that everything will go fine for your labor and your section. Just in case though I'm sending lots of prayers and good thoughts! Even if you scheduled a section, you could still go into labor the night before. Just be patient Mommy! LOL! Jamie's my only baby but that doesn't mean I haven't helped raise plenty. I'm the oldest grandchild! Here are my tips: 1) Sleep when the baby sleeps. Do not stay awake thinking about how cute they are. Babies aren't nearly as cute when they are wide awake and you haven't had any sleep. 2) Take advantage of assistance offered! You don't have anything to prove to anybody and there will come a time where its just you and the baby. So let those willing people help while there are offers on the table. 3) Nothing will ever be perfect so don't obsess. Do the best you can and roll with the punches. Looking back one day things will look more perfect that you had even planned. 4) Babies are creatures of habit. If you can get them on a schedule then you are doing something right. At my mom's house we swear by suppertime, playtime, bathtime, bottle time, bedtime. Once a baby knows the sequence of events, its easier for them to ease into sleepy time. Even today I still have to take a shower every night before bed so that I can sleep. Two great assests to the process are Johnson's Bedtime Baby Wash for in the tub and and Johnson's baby oil for the after bath rub down. We rub the baby oil on the baby's head too. Not bragging but we all have GREAT hair and soft skin now. LOL! 5. Talk to your baby! The fastest way to develop language in a child is to talk to them. All the babies in our family start talking way ahead of schedule. My cousins baby London is 8 months now and understands and is working on "pattycake" without you holding her hands. She says Nana and very intentionally means she wants my mom (not just baby babble). She does the "gimme" motion with her fingers when she wants something and will give "highfives". Most important of all... ENJOY it! They grow up way too fast. My first "baby" was my cousin Jennie. I was 10 when she was born and I thought she hung the moon. She has been my shadow ever since... bathtime, bedtime, birthday parties, you name it. My mom always says that raising Jennie was the easiest for her because I always wanted to do everything for her. On Saturday my first baby turned 15 and my mom and I are taking her to get her driving permit this week. When she was born I never would have imagined how fast that time could pass. P.S. I'll post a picture when I get home.

| Angie, I don't have any advice to give you but it sounds like you have already been offered some great tips. I did want to let you know that you and your baby are in my thoughts and prayers. I know that this must be a scary time for you but I'm positive that everything will work itself out one way or another.

| I don't have any kids Angela, so I can't really give advice, but I just wanted to say Congradulations and all the best to you and your family and your baby on the way!

| Angela, I know you don't know me but I have been following this from the start. I am so happy for you and your family. My advice is to enjoy every single minute of it. Even if she has a crying spell and you are at your wits end, if you can stay calm, she will be calmer. I have learned with age that you shouldn't sweat the small stuff. I have helped my daughter and two dil's with their babies and stressed the stay calm part. They can't seem to understand why the babies stop crying when I hold them.....it's because I know it is not going to hurt a baby to cry so I just enjoy holding and rocking and walking with them. Another is to smell that special little place on their neck and give lots of kisses. If you can relax and go with the flow, everything will be great. I have a dil that is anal (to put it bluntly). Everything has to be by the book......all I can say is baloney. Every baby is different. Enjoy this part with every fiber of you being. It is an awesome blessed time. Sorry so long.
