| Microwave oven recommendations The over-the-stove microwave that was installed 3 years and 8 days ago died today. It runs but it won't heat food, so probably the tube which means it is probably more cost effective to replace the thing. Do any of you have experience with a brand that will last for many years? The one that came installed with my house lasted 12 years. Maybe I am expecting too much, but three years don't quite cut it with me!

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | That's what I was thinking about getting. I've been happy with GE spacemakers in the past. The one I have now, Amana is about 5 years old and it works great, but it is deeper than I realized and I've never liked the way it looked, so of course I'm waiting for it to break, the one before that, I loved the way it looked, but like you said, the repairman said it would cost over $300.00 to fix, so we bought a new one.
