| I don't own one. I just saw one yesterday tho! They look soo weird and cute at the same time. How long have they been out? My brother likes them and wants to get one when he gets his license in a few months. My mom told him he couldn't because, if he got into an accident he'd get killed. It's true but, I'd love to take a drive in one.

| we have one, it's great. my gf loves it, I like it a lot but I'm still unsure about the transmission, if it had a real clutch paddle I will like it A LOT more, the sequential manual thing just doesn't for it for me. some pics: Flickr: Search (we have a black cabriolet with silver cell with red interior)

| we (my gf and I) and Bear go to a lot of places around the city in the smart, you can probably put a doggy car seat in the back, which is not far away from the front seats. There is space between the 2 seats so a center console type doggy seat should fit.

| Smart cars have been around for a while in the UK now... a good few years. Yes they are compact, yes they are economical, yes they look kinda cute... BUT they are not so great in an accident, it doesn't look like there is much space left for your legs after the crumple zones have collapsed. If you do a Google search on images of Smartcar crashes you'll see what I mean. I don't fancy the idea of being in a head on crash at say 50mph in any car let alone one that's just a little over 8ft. I have a few friends that either own one or have owned one in the past and all have said that they don't feel 100% safe in them and that they feel unstable to drive. One of my friends rolled one, completely over turned it on a corner in some wet weather and it wasn't like we'd have torrential rain either! This is obviously just my input though...

| They have been out here for a number of years. I love them, but I don't think I would get one either because of the safety factor. One of our well known actresses was killed recently when she had an accident in one. They are cute, but also very expensive here. Sheilagh
