| Hospital today... So today I went upstairs after Mike's dad's nurse Jessica called me telling me she was here. We went outside to see her new car she just bought. We came back in and I was about to go downstairs to get ready for work when she asked me to come upstairs. I walked up to the second floor and Mike's grandmother was laying on the bathroom floor with poop everywhere. First off, we have the basement to ourselves so we didn't even hear her fall. Second I spent most of my morning in the kitchen on the main floor doing dishes. Not once did I hear her yell or anything. So Mike came up, we all got her up and into the shower to clean her off, then I cleaned up her poop mess. Well then she TRIED to walk to her room and couldn't do it so Jessica and Mike carried her while I made a place for her to sit. After that we decided, off to the hospital she goes. Well then, she started saying no because she didn't want us to call an ambulance because it would be embarrassing to her. Well honestly, we didn't care, she needed to go the hospital and we didn't want her to sit in the waiting room for half an hour before they actually got her into a room. So finally we talked her into letting us call an ambulance. They come, take her to the hospital. After I got off work, Mike and I went right over there to check on things. Well she looked horrible. The doctor called me once we got home and said that he could send her home tonight, but after everything we told him, he decided to run more tests and see tomorrow. So all in all, we had a busy day. I hate seeing his grandmother go through all this. She is probably the most stubborn woman ever. She actually wanted to walk down the stairs, but we knew she would fall even if we were there helping her. We think she may have had a mini seizure or concussion. So I guess we'll find out more info tomorrow about it. I also feel horrible for Mike and his brother. They have to deal with this so much and I know it stresses them out having to worry so much about her and then about Jenny and I. Plus they worry about money, and living stuff. It's really hard on them both and even with their father who also lives here and has brain damage. I think he annoys them more then anything though because he just asks and begs for stupid stuff that he doesn't need. The man is like 250 some pounds and all he wants to eat is chocolate and cookies and chips. Sorry had to kind of vent a bit...just a little stressed out and frustrated today. I will update tomorrow about how she is. |

| Oh no, what an awful day. What an indignity for his poor grandmother to suffer. Sending hugs and best wishes for good news tomorrow. Sounds like you all have a very full plate.

| She's doing better today... Were not sure on when she's getting out though. They ran more test today but we didn't hear any results yet. All her other tests came back fine though. She said she may be home by Sunday or Monday or maybe later in the week. She looked better today and thanks to her wonderful grandson Mike she can actually hear us now. We went to radio shack and bought her something that will make things louder for her. She said it works really well. Her best friend Merriam is coming up from Maryland tomorrow and meeting us at the hospital. So that will make her happy to see Merriam. Thanks for all your prayers and everything. |
