| That isn't fun! Our electricity was out for 9 days with the last ice storm. It was horrible! SOO cold! Thank gosh we have a fireplace, generator, and plenty of wood in the pasture! I'm hoping everything stays on!!!

| Oklahoma. We're in NE Oklahoma. It was pretty crappy. But we managed okay. Thank gosh all my family lives close. Grandma has gas water heater and stove, so we could shower and cook. It was a community shower. I felt more sorry for our cows then us... I went home, cause here at school (I'm in college in SE Kansas about 35 minutes from home) we don't have a fireplace. We lost our power for a couple of days, and I bit**ed the whole first day. It was soooo cold. And it did SUCK!

| wow... note to self, do not move to Indiana! Im kidding! I feel lucky though, we've had soooo much bad weather this winter, ice storms and 2 feet of snow blizzards and I have not so much as had a flicker of power failure. thank god! Last year we had an ice storm and something happened I never seen before in my life (and I was 30 at the time!) underground electrical transponders were popping left & right... bright flashes, loud booms... weird weird weird! Anyways I live in a townhouse complex and my 'branch' of townhouses is in a U shape, with 3 buildings not attached on 3 sides around the parking lot, with an island in the middle of the parking lot. I saw a transponder blow there but did not lose electricity... come to find out the other 2 buildings lost electricity for 2 days!! I was sooooo lucky!! I hope you get your phone back soon!

| It sounds like you got it worse than us. There was a light layer of ice on my windshield when I went out this morning. Our schools were open. We are supposed to get more freezing rain and snow later today and tonight

| I think I have the solution for power outages. But a generator. We have had several power outages lasting up to 5 days (some people were out for 2 weeks) and during the winter outages we froze and during the summer outages were were dying all night long in the heat. So we bought a generator after the last one last year. We have had lots of snow, wind and ice and guess what? No power outages since we got the generator.

We did the same thing with the generator after the big ice storm of 99 where we were without power for 7 days and have never once used it.
