| A cautionary tale...(long) ...more for humor's sake then anything. I need something to laugh at today, and going over my day in my head, that "something" is myself. The following is a cautionary tale about trying to make an unproductive day more productive... I am 19 years old. Needless to say, none of the weeks in my life have been very stressful and jam packed with things that must get done...until now. My fiance and I leave Anchorage to spend two weeks at home in Omaha on Saturday and there is SO MUCH to get done before we go. He works everyday this week, I worked yesterday, today and will work Friday as well. We usually go to the gym at nights, but I didn't feel like it yesterday and I thought maybe by not going I could lessen the amount of things there were to be done by Saturday. Nope, stayed home, watched Monday Night RAW. So today I drop him off at work so I can have the car. He reminds me not to forget his other uniform (again) so he can drop it off at the dry cleaners when I pick him up later. Okay, babe! I'll put it in the car when I get home. Well, I walked in with about 2 hours before I had to go to work myself, I look at his uniform laying on the floor and decide to "just check things on the computer". I end up spending about an hour and a half on Ebay. I pick up his uniform, put it on the couch so I wont forget to throw it in the car. Get ready and leave. Fast forward to the end of my workday. I got off an hour early, so I decide "Hey! I can get some more stuff done now!" I then realized I had no real time during the next three days to do fun stuff...and Nordstrom was calling out to me. So I forget the much more important tasks and head over there. Another hour goes by and the mall had produced no results. Ughh, fine. I go to pick up my fiance and he gets in the car, looks around and asks, "Where is my uniform?" I HAD LEFT IT ON THE COUCH! By now, I feel like complete crap. I couldn't accomplish anything for myself all day and now I couldn't do the one tiny thing he asked me to do. So we get home, foul mood (me, not him) and all, and I decide to FINALLY do something productive. I pick the messiest room in the house and decide to clean it spotless so I won't have to do that much to it before we leave. I get the mountain of dishes into the dishwasher, pour in the Cascade, get bumped by our furbaby Guinness or my fiance (they are blaming each other) and some of the Cascade jumps around out of the box and right into my right eye. Trust me when I say, that BURNS! So I slam the dishwasher shut and spend 10 minutes rinsing and scrubbing my eye. So here I sit, not at the gym, a sore right eye, a cluster headache on the left side of my head, with his non dry cleaned uniform on the floor and the dishwasher I slammed shut has yet to be turned on. Next time, I'm just going to call a spade, a spade. An unproductive day is just that. Trying to correct it too late will result in cleaning products to the eye. Next time, I'll just curl up and wait for Idol...or whatever is on that night. There is always tomorrow. And at the VERY least, I didn't do anything counter productive. *Sigh* Sorry so long, but man, I feel better.
