Looking for Breeder in MA Hello everyone, I am new to this site but would appreciate any info I could get. My family is looking to purchase a Yorkie this summer and we are searching for a reputable breeder in our area. We have contacted several breeders who sounded "great" on the phone but I want to be so sure that our puppy is going to be healthy. After reading several posts about Country Home Yorkies, she is definitely off our list now. Quotes we got from breeders have been from $1,500 to $2,600 depending on size. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

do you want this dog for show? or breeding? If not, the woman I got my boys from is in Hillsboro NH. Its a bit of a haul, but my boys are perfect! (haha in my opinion) they are healthy! $750/each. The womans house is not the 'cleanest' place, and her dogs looked like they could all go for a good grooming, but when I bought my pups they were well taken care of, clean, and warm! She had the first round of shots done and a health cert from her vet for each of them. They are AKC registered also. She kept the pups in a playpen (like one for children) in their own bed with newpaper down around it, in a room with a woodstove. My boys ended up looking like Dexter - short legs and short body, darker face and not quite all the way up ears! He has very fine curly hair which is black (not blue or silver) with tan legs. He weighs 5lbs. He is very tiny though, very fine bones and so small. Fletcher - hes just about perfect for a yorkie except hes 8lbs. He has silky hair which did turn silver on his back (after his first grooming) and his face is tan, his legs are tan. He is long! Long body, long legs. Perfect up ears. He is very sturdy and solid for only 8lbs. (these are brothers from the same liter! haha) I dunno... I just wanted pets and refused to pay $1500 for a dog. These boys are healthy, happy and I could not be happier with them. If you are interested let me know and I'll dig out their papers for her name & number! If not (thats ok) good luck with your search!

Hello ... we are looking for a pet quality dog. Thank you for your information. I can't see how different breeders can charge such different prices.

about diferent prices... i reaserched a lot before i got my Maxx, and found out a lot of diferences... i visited people with big yorkies and they had large litters, one in Ct i contacted she had 9 puppies on a litter but her female was 12 pounds and her male was 9. Nice looking and healthy looking well cared for, but bigger than what i wanted. I finally found one at a reasonable price, i did not pay 3000 for Maxx, his mommy is not too small but still little and withing breed standards and his daddy was a bit smaller than his mommy. Both gorgeous faces and the litter looked like a picture i saw on a yorkie book i got last year... so there is a lot of diference from breeder to breeder and specially from "breeder stock to breeder stock" if you know what i mean... my maxx is just about 5.5 healthy pounds, was just neutered and did really good and he is healthy as it can be... i am still able to put him in a carrier for small dogs and take him with me all over. I am very happy with my choice, i would not want him to look any diferent. I can give out the contact of my breeder if anyone is interested.

Love my new Puppy!! We did alot of research and looked at alot of references when we choose our breeder in Beverly. Loved her. Our puppy is great. We were able to vist her a couple of times and see both the mother and father. She has been raising Yorkies for years. All of the people we spoke with that have puppies from her are so happy. Our little girl was 2.4 lbs a couple of weeks ago and shouldn't be more than 5 lbs. Both her parents are under 5 lbs and were so beautiful. All her Yorkies were beautiful and well cared for. When we picked up our puppy she just had her new litter. She actually interviews you to ensure you are right for her puppies and turned down someone before we got there because she didn't think they were right for her Yorkies!!! Her Yorkies are great tempered as well. We just love her. Of course it has only been a month but she is wonderful!!! Her ears are straight up, looks great, mild tempered and very loving!! Plus she still checks up on her!! ANyways you can reach her at smartpuppiepets@yahoo.com !! Tell her Michelle told you about her!! Any more questions please let me know!!!
