Recently adopted my first yorkie-a senior guy Hi everyone, my name is Margaret and I recently adopted my first yorkie (Scooter) from the HSUS in Newark, NJ. He is over ten but I don't think they knew exactly how old he is. He was found in an apartment with his owner who was deceased for at least a week and the animal control people took him to the shelter. I think he is just wonderful!! His teeth are pretty lousy and I think most will have to come out and he has arthritis in his front legs plus he is pretty overweight. But he is lovable and I am grateful to have him. Anyway, just wanted to say hello to the list. Take care all, Margaret in NY

Congradulations on your new friend and welcome. Babies are wonderful, but the older ones are so sweet and show so much love. Good luck.

scooters health Thank you list for welcoming me. I was able to post a picture of Scooter earlier. Next week when I get paid again, I am taking him to the vet to see about his teeth. They are really rotten unfortunately so I will see what needs to be done or if they can be cleaned. I don't think so though, it seems some may have to come out. His hair is very dull too so maybe some special oil might be good to add with his food? If anyone can suggest any, that would be great. Plus he has bad arthritis in his front legs and the extra weight on him doesn't help at all. But he loves to walk in the park even though he poops out about 3/4 of the way- he has a big heart and a sweet personality. Thanks again everyone, Margaret and Scooter in NY
