| Brandi is gone. XMASBABY75's PAIN I stayed home from work today with with a cold and just woke up to a horrible email from Stacy (YT Member XMASBABY75). I am posting her note to me, in her own words. Well, I'm afraid I have some terrible news. I wanted to call you last night, but I just couldn't speak. My Brandi girl is gone. As you know, we took the twins to the vet yesterday for their shots. It was only distemper this year, so we weren't as worried about the vaccines. The vet even gave her the steriod shot to prevent a reaction. We got about 5 minutes down the road after we left the vet, and she started throwing up, so we turned right back. By the time we got there, in no less than 5 minutes, she had messed her carrier, and she was limp. The vet tried to give her IV fluids, but every vein she had just collasped, so we had to tell him to please try the fluids under the skin. She started to come around, and she opened her eyes, and moved her head, and the vet said to take her to OSVS right away. I thought for sure they could save my baby. The ER vet tried going in through the jugular, but even that vein would not allow them access. She stopped breathing, and they contimued to do CPR until she was gone. They said it was anaphylactic shock. I am just so upset and angry right now. This should not have happened. She was only 2 1/2 years old. She was just bouncing and playing right before all this. It just doesn't seem fair. She was my happiest one. The rest of the crew are all huddled up together in a big yorkie pile right now. I don't think they know what to make of the sitauion, but Gel keeps wanting to go outside and look for her. It's breaking my heart. We have to take her today for creamation, and we will get her ashes back in a few days. Can you please let all my YT friends know. You can even post this, I just don't think I can type it again. I will be taking a little break from the forum for a few days, but I will be back. I am sitting this GE out. This was Brandi's turn, and it just doesn't seem right.
