| We lost one of our babies We lost our baby Jewel wednesday. She wasn't a yorkie, but i still wanted to share. She was going to vet monday to get her ears cleaned, she's had an ear problem for years. Starting friday, she stopped eating and began throwing up. this continued through the weekend and when she went for her ears we wanted to get this checked out. she lost 13 lbs from march when she was their last and we think most was from the weekend when she wasn't eating and was throwing up. The vet called us tuesday and wanted to give her surgery to see what was clogging her food passage and we gave her the go ahead since if we didn't, she'd probably starve and no one wants that. She called my mother wednesday afternoon after the surgery and said she had cancer in her stomach and it was just too big and severe to do anything, so Jewel didn't make it. my mom allowed her to put her to sleep instead of waking her to say goodbye after surgery and then be put down again. We've had her for the past 11 years and it's really hard as any pet passing would be, but the fact that we expected her home today or tomorrow makes it so much worse and the fact that we didn't get to say goodbye while she was awake. it's really hard and our little yorkies loved her. we just didn't see this coming. like most dogs even cats, they don't show anything is wrong till it's almost too late. she was fine till about friday so she didn't hurt much and the vet she saw before she passed loved her and she loved the vet as well, Jewel really liked her and the vet said she was happy and wagging her tale before the surgery so she was happy still and she gave her a hug and kiss for us. We went and saw Jewel just to say goodbye and even though she was already gone, it helped so much to pet her again. this was the first time i've done this since the last dog, Bucky passed when i was seven and i didn't really know what was happening, he was awake still when my mom said goodbye, thats what's harder about jewel since she wasn't awake. But Jewel was sure spoiled lol and she no one could love her more then us and were going to miss her like crazy. it's weird going from having this big dog and two little yorkies to only having the two little ones along with our other babies. Now Jewel and Bucky can play together though. Were going to miss her. RIP Jewel, we love you!!!

| What a shock! I'm writing this with tears in my eyes. Your words tell how much you loved her. You are now the owner of an angel---well, two to be exact. Hugs.

| I am so very sorry for your loss. Sending hugs Time will heal the raw wounds - one day instead if thinking of your precious Jewel and tearing up you will think of her and smile. That's when you know healing has started, |

| How sad! Im sorry for your loss....my first experience with putting a dog down was with my black lab, golden retriever mix, we rescued from the pound at 8wks old. She lived to be 14 and i loved her so much. It was the hardest thing to do but she also stopped eating and when checked it was kidney disease and the vet said it was the only thing to do. My husband and i sat with her till the end and cried like babies. My heart goes out to you as i know your pain. I think most of us have been through it at one time or another. God bless you and ease your pain...
