| Help! Chicagoland Ortho Vet Needed! After taking my little Finny (8 mo/4.5 lbs) for his first real haircut I noticed that his right rear leg was significantly skinnier than the left and that he hardly bears any weight on it. I immediately took him to my vet where he took x-rays and diagnosed Finny with Legg Calve Perthes Disease and an undescended testicle. I then took Finny for a second opinion where he was diagnosed with Hip Dysplasia. This vet also told me that Finny may not be bearing any weight on his right rear leg because he thinks the testicle is stuck near the inner thigh area and is causing him pain when he walks. Needless to say, I am at a loss. It breaks my heart to see my little guy in pain. I really want to resolve this as soon as possible so Finny can recover and hopefully have a normal life. I am looking for any suggestions or recommendations on a reputable ortho surgeon in the Chicagoland area (preferably the SW suburbs). Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

| Thanks for your reply. Buffalo Grove is kind of far from me but I'd still like their name so I can have as many options as possible. Do you have personal experience with them? Thanks again! |

| We have a VCA in Aurora. I've heard that their staff is less than pleasant to deal with BUT their doctors are very good.

| I've heard nothing but good things about Vet Specialty in Buffalo Grove.... I think they have an ortho there. Your regular vet might have to make an official referral to them though. http://www.vetspecialty.com/ |
