| Use some no tears shampoo on the warm cloth, and then gently brush them out.

| To help with the eye problem, it helps to keep the hair trimmed as much as possible away from the eyes. Also, my vet recommended giving distilled water to drink. I give it to Jake, and his eyes hardly ever run at all.

| I have never heard about distilled water. I know I just use warm water on wash rag. Sometimes I just use my finger nail.

| Best way to keep the eyes clean, is washing the face every morning with a warm damp washcloth. It only takes 2 minutes. |

| There are plenty of ways to PREVENT them from accumulating, but prior to you knowing this, you're now faced w/ what to do once they're there and those boogers simply don't want to let go of the coat..... I offer that you use a drop of dish soap mixed in your palm w/ a little bit of the dogs regular shampoo directly on the eye boogers while giving your bath. Be careful to not get this mixture into the dogs eyes, and just watch them slide right out. And you can take it one step further if they're real bad and be sure to get that mix as best you can into the coat and then go get a FINE TOOTH comb (almost as fine as a flea comb, but not quite) and then comb them out w/ that solution on them and for sure....problem solved! *tah dah* Post up before/after picks please! |

| Great methods!! Toto hates those things .... I simply lay her on her back, soak them with warm water on a Q-tip ... give them a minute and they wipe right out with a dry Q-tip!! Takes less than five minutes and she's a happy girl!

| I use a saline eye wash. Wet them let it sit a few minutes and then use a tooth brush to comb it out. Saline dissolves them pretty quickly and won't hurt the eyes. |
