| One ear up one ear down ?? Hi Everyone, Just got my Yorkie puppy. My girlfriend has one so we got another one for companion. Our puppy is 7 weeks old and, one ear is standing up and the other one is flat down. Is that ear going to go up ? Do they usually go up together or with time ? |

| Yes your puppy's ears should still come up. They may even drop again during the teething period. How big is your puppy? I am surprised to see that someone would let them go to their new home so young. Most breeders wait until they are at least 12 weeks old before adoption. Welcome to YT and I hope you enjoy your time here. Let me know if you have any questions, I would be glad to help.

| Triggers ears did the same thing. 1 up, then the other, back & forth. Then they both went up all on their own. Now they are back down, but I think that's because he is teething. I am going to give him some time & if they don't go bakc I am going to tape them. I think you should just watch them, if they dont' go up alon you can always tape the one that wont' go up. Oh, also a lot of people say massaging the ear helps them go up, so that's worth a try. |

| Wow! 7 weeks. Bella is 14 weeks and had both ears up and now 1 is up and the other flops down, which I've read on here is normal. There are several good threads on here about this topic. (I've read them a couple times to find out more about Bella's ears and there is lots of good info.) Good luck and welcome!! Tons of great info on here about Yorkies!

| Gracie was 3 to 4 months old and still had one up and one down. The vet thought she would stay like that. I taped the one ear up and 24 hours later, it was standing on its own. And it still is. Don't tape the ear of your little puppy, at least not for a while.

| They do go up and down when their pups and when their teething. They should eventually stay up.

| Thank you all for the helpful replays. I will wait, and watch if it's going to start raising on its own. Now in later time if I decide to tape them. How do you tape them? |

| Roxy is 6 months with one up and one down. I also question this and another yorkie talker told me that her teething is the problem with the ears standing. Since she is teething she requires more calcium. I was told to give her a little cottage cheese. Her ears are standing on their own with one a lil floppy. They will stand on their own time. I did the crazy taping of the ears and all. They are now starting to stand on their own.
