| nightmare morning This AM my little angel saw a dog on our patio, and started barking. this is the dog that doesn't bark, just doesn't. I have noticed since going to Daycare, she comes home barking more. She was at daycare yesterday, so that's something there. But this dog this morning left the yard, and she just kept barking and barking. I took her to the bathroom with me ( I was getting ready ) she barked in there. Put her in the kitchen with the gate up, barked there, let her run loose, ran all around. I said no, and sat down with her, talking to her, holding her mouth gently closed and saying no and nothing worked. I hope this isn't a sign of things to come. She has been so quiet. She is almost 11 months........oy vay! On another note, the ears are perky now! So the taping and shaving worked at 10 months. Don't give up, if you want them up, they can still go up after they grow up a bit Any advice on yapping dogs appreciated. How do any of you stop them when they start getting out of control? |

| Wow doggy daycare sounds like kid daycare. My daughter came home the first week and told me "You are not my friend" and eventually learned a cuss word or two! Obviously those "other" dogs are a bad influence on your baby! Hee Hee

| We use a little squirt gun. Ours don't like to be wet, and they learned real fast that if I am pointing the gun at them, they know they are doing something wrong. I don't even have to squirt them much anymore.

| Yes, I think that's true. Doggy day care - they learn bad habits from other dogs. She seriously doesn't bark, ever, unless she has just been at this Daycare. Now I don't know if I want to bring her back. Everything else is so good there, just that she sees what other dogs do..... |

| Welcome to the wonderful world of barking. When Chachi and Jewels start barking and I want them to quit I clap my hands loudly and say no bark. They go into a barking frenzy when someone comes to the door and I put them in the xpen and tell them no barking

| I also like the squirt gun method because I don't have to get off the couch

| The squirt gun doesn't work with Lucy. She comes running and wants me to squirt her mouth. It's her favorite way to drink!

| Yeah, one of the dogs in our training class used to love the squirt gun and think it was a game. So the owners tried to be sneaky about it and catch her off guard. My dogs just HATE being wet, so it works for them.

| She was probably thinking that the dog she saw is supposed to come and play with her. |
