Confused Mindy hair question?

Hi everyone

Mindy is now 20 weeks old and she looks like she has a sun visor on. Her bangs are growing straight out and you can't see her eyes unless you are looking at her straight on. I've tried pulling them back with a clip and or bow but she won't keep it in. I would say she has silky hair on her head and the rest of her body seems more cottony. I noticed that most of the puppies on here have bangs that tend to grow back instead of forward, is that because they have thicker cottony hair?

My question is for any of you that have had a similar experience with their pup....will it go back once it gets longer? Will it eventually part and lay on either side of her head? Should I trim the bangs? If you have had the same experience can I see a picture of the end result? I'm torn because I would like to grow her hair but I also don't want her to have the hair hanging in her eyes. What to do????

Thanks for any advice. Sorry I have pictures but I haven't downloaded them yet.

Mary

Eventually it will grow longer and you'll be able to put it into a band for a topknot. In the meantime put a little gel to keep it in place. If you're going to keep her short, you might want to use blending shears to blend it back to the rest of her head. It's what I do, since I hate that visor over the eyes that a lot of groomers cut.

Penny's silky bangs are just about long enough to put in a topknot, but when I finally get it in she takes it out. I've used the latex band, but they make terrible knots in her hair, so I use the little scrunchy ones. Maybe you can try them. I got them at the Dollar Store.

Well, it is a long process, but I've found that the best way to see my little one's eyes is to let her hair grow. At first, she has quite the crazy looking 'do

But when I was patient, it grew into quite a beautiful blonde mane, and she saw much better, and I could see her beautiful brown eyes.

I think it is a matter of personal preference. We all have poor growing out stages in our hair, but if you are patient, the hair will grow long enough to stay down or be tied back. Every time I give my little girl a haircut, she fights the bangs and "moustache" in her eyes.

I sometimes think of these pups as my own little styling experiments! I love being able to choose their hairstyles, and it grows fast enough that if I shave them in the summer, they have long coats by winter!

Thanks for the gel tip. I'm going to try that.

You can trim them like you would a child's to keep them out of the eyes.
Just comb the bangs forward and trim until you get the length you want.
I have always did that with Buddy and his hair parts down the middle of
his head and is longer on the sides. I love to see his eyes.
He has a silky coat.

Lacy's hair falls in her face when it's not in a topknot. I keep her hair in a bow every day and take it out at night so at night and in the morning she has wild hair. I think the key to keeping a topknot in is to get that little rubber band in tight enough (and by tight I mean wrap the band around the hair several times - not pulling the skin tight). You also just have to let your puppy get used to it and train her to keep it in - tell her no if she starts to mess with it. Eventually she should get used to it and leave it alone.
