| Bella ate cat food I was in the back of the house, and when I came back through the kitchen Bella had jumped OVER the puppy gate. The gate is nearly two feet tall....and she managed to jump over it at only 4 months old! There was about 1/2 cup of cat food in the kitty's bowl, and Bella ate it ALL!! Such a little piggy. I have been watching her closely to make sure that she did not get hurt jumping over the gate, but so far she seems to be fine. I can feel that her belly is very full...will the cat food hurt her?? I am going to have to think of something different than a gate to keep her out of the kitty food....any suggestions? I am cluless, she is doing so great with potty training so I don't want to crate her when I am home. For now I will just not take my eyes off of her. I feel like such a bad mommy |

| I think Bella will be fine because it was a one time thing. Could you put the kitty food on something, like the dryer, to keep Bella out of it?

It's a Yorkie Thing Donating Member | Mine has eaten cat food also. It's really rich and gives him the squirts, but other than that he's ok. It will work it's way out sooner or later.

| I know some who keep the cat food up higher where their dogs can't get to it. Don't be suprized if you hear a meow from your baby. |

When I had cats with my Irish Setter, all of the cat stuff had to be up high. Then we got a parakeet. That had to go way up high. (I gave it away - I knew one of my cats was just going to figure out how to get it sooner or later).
