| Playing too hard? I am puppysitting for my friend while she is shopping in New York with her mom. The puppy I am watching is a 14 week old Shih tzu. She is so cute! I have her from about 1 pm- 10pm while my friends husband is at work. We have had them playing together since day one. My friend and I are pretty close and enjoy being able to get to gether with our puppies. Anyways-- my question is this... Sometimes I wonder if they are playing too rough? They will growl and bark and jump on each others heads. I have also noticed that Keeley will show his (very cute) little front teeth. Do I need to worry about them being too rough with each other or is this how puppies play? |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | Let em at it - As long as there's no screaming or blood - they're playing - mine do that ALL the time - They tackle each other - jump on each other from behind furniture and in general - play pretty rough...The LOVE it ! I think my favorite game is "Git My Face" where Chanel hangs her chin hair off the couch and poor Cheri is like Charlie Brown and that Football trying to jump up and grab it - Chanel pulls away at the last minute and Cheri lands on her butt ! |

| lol "Git My Face" hahah That sounds too cute. Fred and my boyfriend's 50 lb Chow go at it all the time. I hear growling, I see clawing, Fred bites at her ankles. At first, I was worried but then I asked my Vet and she said that it was okay. Dog's know when rough is TOO rough. I think that's just how they play. Just like kids chasing eachother around and screaming. lol |

| LOL! Git my face! Linus and Lucy play rough all the time. If it gets too rough, they know when to stop. I think it will be ok, just listen for highpitched squeals. If that happens, you might want to break them up and let them calm down for a minute or two. They won't play as hard after that.

| Earlier she made him yelp but they stopped immediatley. And then started up again, I am guessing/hoping that this is a sign that they will stop if it hurts. Does the fact that he is showing his teeth mean anything? |

| LOL! Bella and her brother Plato (a 60 lbs. beagle mix) play all the time. She kinda picks on him, from what we see! But she will show her teeth, he'll show his teeth, he'll chase her, she'll chase him and its a good time had by all! Let them play!!!

| Playing too hard Mine do this all the time and when one gets tired of the play, she hides or runs to me. It's a hoot to see my little 3 lb girl run the bigger one in circles but Chloe, who is older by a few months, will turn her behind toward Lacey rather than hurt her, it's so cute. |
