| Back to the vet again Well, I'm taking Boston to the vet today at 5. The runny stool is back and mother's insticts tell me it's the campy virus again and i don't want to wait too long because I don't want Zoey to get it again. I'm going to a new vet this time. I do NOT understand why he keeps getting it, this will be the 3rd time within 4 months if that's what it is. Poor buddy just can't seem to stay well

| campy It's called camplyobacter virus...It's an intestinal virus causes runny stool and diahrea. They get it from infected water or food or from bird droppings. HE came to me with it but I'm not sure where he keeps picking it up from because he isn't eating any bird poop and I keep everything very clean.

| I hope he feels well soon. I'd ask the vet what could be causing this. Maybe you'll have better luck with a new vet.

| vet update Well my baby came back with "substantial amounts of abnormal bacteria" in his system. They really don't know why or what is causing it but because it's the 3rd time in 3 months she is concerned it's NOT the camplyobacter and may be something else. They are sending cultures away to a lab to get more indepth testing done. In the mean time, he's on Metronidazole(anyone heard of it?) until they get the results back. So any YTers who pray PLEASE pray for my baby Boston, that they'll figure out what's going on so we can get him better and a prayer for my sweet Zoey that she will stay healthy and not catch whatever he is carrying.

| so sorry you are going through this! I have SO been there... All 4 of mine got the "strange" virus, with severe diarrhea... I even had my 95 lb lab with it too.. We never truly figured it out but I switched mine to Hills Z/D dog food - I know alot of people dont like that but it WORKED! and they were all on a full 2 week round of flagyl. That finally seemed to clear it.. I have been told to make sure they take a full 2 weeks. Make sure you CLEAN everything.. I cloroxed my whole house so many times you wouldnt beleive... We have now been almost 2 weeks with "normal" poops... I never thougth I would become a "poop watcher"... LOL Good Luck! I know after 5 weeks of this mess, I am soooo glad to be without it! d

| P.S. They never found out exactly what was causing it. We sent testing off to our LSU vet school and even to Texas A & M... d

| Tara, Metronidazole is an antifungal antibiotic... Brand name is Flagyl. In cream form its what people use for yeast infections. It's strong, so hopefully it will take care of whatever is upsetting your baby's tummy.
