| I Forgot What You Use.... I forgot what you can use when dogs eat poop. Nala was really bad about it but when we switched their food to Natural Balance she quit, well for a little while. Now everytime our lhasa poops Nala is waiting right behind her YUCK I know there is something other than Deter than you can put on their food to keep them from doing this but I forgot what it was. Does anyone know why she only eats her poop sometimes but will eat KoKo's any chance she gets?? I know this is really gross and I'm sorry if I grossed anyone out. And the worst part is if she eats it and we don't catch her she will sometimes throw it all back up and it's not pretty any suggestions??? ideas???? me and my mom are desperate!! |

| meat tenderizer...according to my vet (Maximus is/was a poopy eater also)..certain foods that they eat are also appetizeing in poopy form?..yeah I don't get it but supposedly meat tenderizer is a cheap at home way to stop them..and it has worked so far...except I hate to leave it there for a few minutes..lol, who would've thought puppies dung tastes good in the first place..lol

| don't put it in the food..sprinkle it on the poop..lol.a recipe for poop..and then leave it there ...when they go to eat it..it tastes nasty..and it will stop them..you have to keep a eye out and do it quick..soon they automatically think it always tastes the same..and the won't even attempt anymore..took Maximus about 1-1/2 weeks..now he wants nothing to do with it..lol..not even to get it out of his booty if it's stuck..lol..he makes me do the hardwork..lol..at 1 point I Had a bottle in every room so I could grab and sprinkle..lol..Is there one to put in there food?..I would much rather have done that then let the poop stay for 5 mins... was really gross

| I had to laugh reading this thread!! It really is funny that we can talk about anything here! Tiah eats poop occassionally too! Its not something you can just go and ask someone else if their dog does it too (just in case the answer would be "NO!!!"). You just godda love this place! I never heard of the meat tenderizer, I'm going to try it! Good thing she has never tried Sampson's (my Rotty) poop, I'd need them to deliver meat tenderizer by the truckload!! |

| I don't have any pooper eaters at my home, but I do use poop for another reason. My big dogs like to dig LARGE HOLES in my shrub beds for the cool soil. They have an air conditioner in the breezeway, right beside a waterfall pond. Got more shade at this place than a cave. But the point is, gotta stop them from digging holes. I now put there poop in the holes. No more digging. Love the Poo. Yeah, got plants again.

| Pineapple works also...If you give the dog pineapple to eat (a little bit) then it makes the poop unappetizing to them and they dont eat it...
