| Koda broke his leg (growth plate) My poor baby. On the 15 of June Koda was sitting with us on the front porch. Well Mr. Daredevil himself decided to jump off of it. Our porch is only 24 inches where he jumped from but that was all it took. And of course this happened at 10:30 pm on a Friday night. So the next morning we took him to our vet who took 4 x-rays and found he had fractured his growth plate in his front left leg. He said we could take him to a specialty hospital and have surgerey on it but it would be in the $3000.00 range. I love my baby so much, but there is no way our family could affard that. So he put a splint on Koda and said he would have to wear it for 6 weeks. He gave us more supplies to change it when it became dirty and that is a task in itself. Koda hates having it changed. But he is still in awesome spirits. The first 2 days he just wanted to lay around and rest, but after that he was back to his normal self. Playing and romping around like a nut! lol! Our internet at home hasn't been working so I haven't been able to update. I am at my Mom's and thought I would hop on here again today. Hopefully we will be back online here in the next week. I am going to try and bring my laptop here to Mom's this weekend so I can post some pics of my little trooper and his booboo leg. Take care everyone, and be careful sweet Yorkies! Erin and Koda |

| Oh boy, please don't let him jump or run or wrestle or anything. He should really be contained for the recovery time. He could very easily re-injure and it could not be set right and start to heal wrong, and then you might be forced to do surgery. My Roxy has had knee surgery 2 x already. The recovery period was at least 8 weeks and during that time, she HAD to be contained and limited use of her legs. |

| Erin I am so sorry this happened to your baby. I hope his little leg heals properly. It sounds like it's not bothering him much. It's not easy trying to keep them still, good luck with that. |

| I'm so sorry to hear about his injury. It was about a year ago that we dealt with the same thing except it was ZsaZsa's right rear leg that had the fractured growth plate. She had the surgery but it was just a little over a thousand dollars, vet bills are so different in other areas. They told me to crate her for 6 to 8 weeks but I just couldn't as she's not used to being locked up. Just kept her a quiet as possible and wouldn't allow her to rough house with the other pups. Best of luck with the recovery and if you have any questions just pm me.

| I am so sorry that has happened to your baby. I thought My Jewels broke her leg also recently when she jumped off a chair funny. My Husband and I are going through a tough time right now. I was worried about how would pay for the surgery. It ended up just being a sprain. I hope your baby is all better soon

| Ouch, ouch ouch. For Koda and your pocketbook. I'm so sorry this happened. I have been a nervous wreck because Maxwell is a daredevil jumper and I worry about broken legs. Best of wishes in Koda's recovery. |
