| Who do I choose? In exactly 1 week, I am going to be choosing the puppy I am going to take home on 07/26/07. I talked to my breeder today and she told me a little about their personalities: Puppy #1: She calls him "Mr. Roly Poly". He's the plumpest one of the 3. He's a talker. He's the most hyper. He is also the sweetest and gives the most kisses. He is very independent. He started eating solid foods a couple of days earlier than the rest of them. Puppy #2: She calls him the "Mimic". He likes to follow puppy #1 around. Whatever he does, he copies. He is a bit more calm than #1. He also loves to give kisses. Puppy #3: All she said about the 3rd one is that he's really quiet and shy. I don't have pictures yet, but I will definitely remember to take some next week. I wish my breeder could send me some, but she's not very computer savvy. So.. Which one would you choose? |

| It's hard to say but I would lean toward #2 based on just this info, but I'd want to see pictures as well and would really want to see them in person before I decided.

| I saw them in person almost 3 weeks ago. They will definitely look very different now... even a week from now. I just wanted to get opinions on their personalities because I will have to choose one next week when I go to the breeder's. |

| From this information alone, I'd go with #2. He seems sociable and friendly, but not too hyper. I think you'll know when you see them.

I'm j/k. But I will eventually get him a playmate. Just not yet! I don't think I'll be able to handle 2 puppies at once. | |

I Love My Lil' Punkin's Donating Member | Of course I haven't seen them or met them in person, but just from reading what you posted - I would definitely choose #1 He is sturdy, playful, loving, and independent - what more could you possibly ask for? Can't wait to see the pics of these babies!

I Love My Lil' Punkin's Donating Member | I forgot to mention though - don't let their little attitudes at this age fool you My Stedman was just like #1 that you mentioned when he was a puppy...he was SUPER hyper, barked alot, and was EXTREMELY playful. He is now 15 months old and is still very playful, but is not near as "hyper" and crazy acting like he was when he was a little baby Now, my Tatum on the other hand....was the quiet, very shy one of the bunch when she was a baby, and she was also the smallest. And now?????? She is 7 and 1/2 months old and has the personality of Stedman when he was a baby, LOL. She can be quite hyper at times (although she is NOT a barker....actually, she doesn't even really know HOW to bark - when she tries, she sounds like a bird ) - anyway, she is a spitfire. So really, they CAN change a WHOLE LOT. Stedman went from super hyper to still playful, but much calmer....while Tatum on the other hand went from being the shy little small fry to my little wild child! She most DEINITELY thinks she is boss and has an "If you don't like it I don't care" kind of "hold her head up high" attitude A true queen diva, that's for sure lol But which ever baby you choose, you will love them no matter what!

QUOTE] Based on descriptions alone, I'd choose #1, BUT I really would wait and decide when you go there. Watch them interact with each other. The breeder may not let you go inside with them, but if she does, see which one comes to "check you out." Everytime I went to decide on a puppy, I knew within 2 minutes which one I wanted. "I have chosen" 4 total--2 for me and 2 for my daughter. REALLY--they chose me...I looked for the bossy, fiesty ones--yes the hyper ones--the ones that are nipping at the others! I think they are the funniest! Good luck...whichever one you choose, once you get it home, it will be FABULOUS!!!!!!

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Wow. Tough call. I think you'll know when you go back to see them. My first reaction was instantly #3 bc that description tugged at my heart strings - and I saw his sweet personality emerging confidently as you smothered him w/ love. My 2nd reaction was #2 bc he seemed more "middle-ground". Sounds like #1 is the alpha - and that would be fun too. You can't go wrong!
