| I hate to tell you but they usually decide on their own no matter what you do. My first yorkie was Gracie. She was my Valentine's present from my husband. I held her almost 24/7, fed her, brushed her, took her everywhere with me and guess what? She loves my husband more than life itself and couldn't care less for me. Just give her lots of love and keep your fingers crossed.

| You could try this.... it seemed to work for my family. With our first dog, that was supposed to be mine, everyone played with him. He eventually chose my husband and will have nothing to do with me. SO we got a second dog - Summerlin. I made my family promise not to play with her for the first few weeks that I had her - I did everything. Played with her, held her, groomed her, fed her, dressed her. Everything that happened - I did. She will go to other members of the family, but I am clearly her favorite - and I think that it has to do with the fact that I was the only one who dealt with her at first, so she bonded with me more than the others. Please keep in mind that this was completely by my choice - I asked my family members to leave her alone, so that she would be strictly my dog. Even at this point, I still do the bulk of caretaking for both dogs - my hubby only does it if I am not available. Maybe you could give it a shot. Either way.... good luck!
