| Kitty Box Kruncies and Kitty Litter Breath Ok, I need help. I dont know what her obsession is but I cannot keep Bridget out of the kitty box. She goes in there steals pooh and eats it... It is sooooo gross that she does it. I try closing off the area and she still maagegs to get in. I need to know 1. is this normal, or do I have some sort of freakish dog with a poop fetish 2. Ideas on how to stop? Please help, i dont know if I can take much more kitty litter breath.

| My dog used to do this and he stopped because we would get after him. You might have to put the box up on smething since cats can jump until he gets over his fascination with it.

| Bailey does that!! I ended up blocking off the room the litterbox is in! I used one of those small expandable window screens to block the doorway,, the cat can jump over it,, but HE CANT!! Still when i go into clean the box out,,he follows and trys to grab the " presents" off the little scooper!! I have to get him out of the room just to clean out the litterbox!~~~ GROSS!!

| For-bid We had the same problem with my roommate's dog, Morgan and my cat, Taylor. We just recently started Taylor on something we got from the vet called For-bid which will curb coprophagy and potentially eliminate it completely. Here's a link: http://www.healthypets.com/forbid.html We're only 1 week into treatment and while Morgan still goes into my room, she's been less and less likely to eat out of the litter box... Hopefully we can back Taylor off the For-bid in about a week. |

| Joker used to have to visit the kitty box everynight before bed. I say time for night night, the girls head to the bedroom-Joker detours down the hall. I have to corral him to the bedroom, he has gotten better. Now he only occasionally tries to sneak down the hall but he is always busted. The other night I was fixing Dixies dinner. I turn around and Joker and Dixie are gone. I call them-out they come from the hall. You guessed it-Joker taught her where and what is in that bathroom. I am sure he told her when mom is stingy with the cookies-here is the help your self buffet. Knowing him in his mind he is thinking, lets see mom kiss on this little thing now *snickering* one wiff and mom wont want to kiss it for a week. Luckily Dixie hasn't visited the cat box since then. Only way I know to keep them out is tell them no before they enter or keep getting them out of the bathroom. 5 dogs here, 3 know better now, joker pushes his luck and Dixie is not to sure she likes it.Everytime they went near that bathroom I would say phoey. The girls caught on fast.Phoey also is used for anything I don't want them smelling or putting in their mouths.

| Juliette Does That Too Marlee.........I'm with you girl on this one!! My little girl Juliette has fallen in love with the litter box this past week. It seems like at least once a day she gets in there and "gets a treat." I tried to block it off with a baby gate but she can climb!! She climbs the gate just like she climbs the x pen. She will come running into the livingroom with cat litter stuck to her muzzle and a "krunchie" in her mouth. And speaking of cat litter breath.........you are lucky if it smells like cat litter........Juliette's smells like cat poop! My husband came home two days ago and Juliette ran to give him puppy kisses. He had this strange look on his face and said ooohh she tooted. I just smiled..........I didn't tell him it was her breath!!...poor guy!

| oh no, your poor hubby. Well I have about had it, I tried the baby gate to with no luck, amazing how these little buggers can climb. I will have to try that firbid because if something dont change quick I dont know what I wll do. To top it all off she thinks I am being mean becasue I wont let her give me puppy kisses, but sorry no way I am kissing that! Heck I wont even kiss my hubby after onions without a breathmint or good brushing, what is Bridget thinking??? LOL And yes her breath smells more like poop with just a tinge of that sandy urine smell...peee ewew thanks for the advice, never imagined this would be such a common problem, my other dogs never had issues with krunchies from the kitty rear end buffett.

| OH this is sooo gross yet,,, OK... I wasnt gonna tell this gross story,,,but~~~~~ Today, we are coming back to work at lunch and Bailey is all playing with something on the seat with his head down,,so that I cant see,, then I realize hes being feisty like he does when he thinks Im gonna take something off of him... so, I push him back,,and there on the seat is a CAT TURD!! Of course, he gets all feisty and is trying to grab it, before I do... And Im not quite sure if I wanna touch it bare handed,, wonderin' if its fresh or old... ,, But, by the look on Baileys face I have to act quickly!! Meanwhile ,remember Im driving!! SO ,I go for the grab and whip it out the car window,, and he is all PO'd... of course! So,, anyhow,,no car accidents, and not too much poop breath!! Imagine explaining that to a cop, after I ass end another car!! I know he grabbed it out of the gravel in the car port.. cause Ive seen the cat over there!! Now I have that to contend to, when we go to get in the car! NICE!!
