| I don't know what happened... Thursday we drove to Atlanta, Georgia from Jackson, Mississippi. The drive is about 5.5 hours. On the way there Rex sat calmly in his seat the entire time. But on the way back, about an hour into the ride, he hopped out of his seat and was hanging by his harness on the side. I kept putting him back in and he kept hopping back out. So, I let him ride on my lap for a couple of hours, and he was fine. I decided to try the seat again, he wouldn't stay. Needless to say, he had to ride the rest of the way in his kennel-cab... I just don't think it's safe for him to ride on the front seat in my lap. (I wasn't driving) |

| Gus does that when he is in the backseat car seat -- we use the console carseat when not on major highways. I gave up and now just use the harness and safety strap. Dog car seats aren't like baby car seats, they don't add any protection, it is the straps keeping them in place that keep them safe.

| Okay-- so the earlier post told you all what the problem was..... so, a couple of days ago we were headed to my mom's house and he started jumping out the car seat again.. He'd hop right back out as soon as i put him in! Last edited by Mama_to_Rex; 04-20-2007 at 08:15 AM. Reason: can't attach photos |

| I think it would be better to just have the car/travel harness buckled into the seat belt rather than useing car seats. This way they don't get hung up when they jump out. |
