| Hello! I just wanted to say hello to the group. I am the proud new mamma to a little 6 month old Yorkie who came to his new home two weeks ago. I have a bunch of questions about the little guy. But am going to look through the boards and see if I can find the answers first. Hoping to put up some pics of him with his new haircut. Hope everyone is having a great day! |

| re: Hello and questions now.... Ack, as soon as I figure out the pic thing, I will get them up. I have ever had a puppy that I have wanted to show off so much! And these little guys actually like getting their pic taken, or at least mine does. It's like they are natural showboats. Its easy to spoil them isn't it. Well, now for some questions. I did a quick search and couldn't find what I was looking for. Some have told me that Yorkies can be a *little* high strung. So I didn't think anything of it when Percy first came home. Well, he is turning out to be extremely high strung. He is scared of everything. He shakes when I take him for walks. Dogs barking make him jump. He gets distraught when someone comes to the door. He hits the floor when I try to pet him. He just wants to sit in my lap and be petted. Can they be hard to socialize? He came from a good breeder in the area, and was raised in home with his litter mates. So this doesnt make sense to me. I have a quiet house. He is petted and loved and talked nicely to, except when a "No" is needed. I am a little worried about how nervous he is all the time. Any suggestions? |
