| How cold is too cold for Yorkies? The unseasonably cold weather here has kept my babies in the house most of the time. The ice covered grass has forced us to keep our walks short and on the cold sidewalks. I was wondering what everyone does to keep their babies active when they can't go out? What temperature range should I deem acceptable for my two?

| Mine go out to go to the bathroom in all temperratures. We only go on walks when its 30 degrees or higher. When they dont go outside as much we just try to play with them alot more

| I don't know how cold it would have to get to keep mine in the house. They love to go outside. When we had the winter blast sweep through they were outside rolling in the snow and I could hardly get them inside. Abbie is only 5 months old so I worry about her getting too cold, but she just fights me to stay outside.

| I always let them tell me when they are cold. I bundle them up in tshirts with their winter coats and we go for a walk. As long as we keep moving they love it! I can always tell if they think it's too cold b/c they will turn around to go home It's only supposed to be 5 here tomorrow so we will stay in and play ball |

| dogs out in bad wheather On colder days I put their clothes on. They have jackets and shirts (which also cover there legs but not underside) and booties... I've seen some that are made of leather as well... may want to dress according for the snow. I let mine go out in the rain, somehow the male always ends up in the puddles and mud. |

| I take mine out if the temps are in the 20's or above. They're always bundled up in heavy coats/sweaters. I think the teens and below are too cold for them, but that's my opinion. The colder the temp, the shorter the walk. On days when they don't go out, we try to run them around the house a lot.

Troy loves the snow. but i'm not trying to stand out in it to long so when i'm ready to go in she has to go and thats not long. like 5 min if that. i hate the cold. but she gets a lot of exercise from my kids anyway so we haven't gone on any walks yet. she doesn't like her leash at all so we are working on getting her leash trained.

| I never let mine out from October to April but we get really sever weather here (usually between 25-30 below). I make sure they have a good run in the house twice a day ( play catch, chase). They seem to be happy enough and they are quite content with not going out!

| Boo has been in 14 degrees in Idaho and peed and pooped which I was very surprised. I guess he had no choice.

| I was wondering about boots. I can't imagine that mine would keep them on.
