| Pee Pad Question..... My little guy is trained to go on a pee pad in a litter box. I have the large Purina litter box. My problem is, when he pees toward the edge of the pad, the pee goes under the pad and then I have to clean out the box and it's such a messy job! Does anyone else use this box and what do you use with it? I'm not sure if the problem lies with the size of the pad, or the kind I am using. I'm using the Out Deluxe from KMart and they are 21.5 x 23.5. Do the washable ones work any better? Any help would be appreciated.

| We have the Purina litter box, but we have the smaller one. We are using Blue Ribbon pee pee pads 22x23 right now and we have to actually push one side up in the back because they are a little too large for the box, but we don't have any spills. We thought about the larger box, but it just seemed too large for Wrigley. We just ordered the washable pads from Beyond Spoiled, we are anxious to see how they work! |

Senior Yorkie Talker | I'm sorry. I don't have any suggestions but I did want to jump in and say thank you for a wonderful idea! I've never thought about using Pee Pads and a litter box together. It seems great! I think I may try it.

Symplistik, I read about it on this board, and it has worked out great! Chewy would get on the pad, but then circle around and it up peeing off the pad. Also, I think it helped him distinguish between the pad and rugs in the house. The only issue I have is with the pee going under the pad. Rees1, thanks for the reply, maybe I should try a bigger pad since you are using the same size as me and have a smaller box. Please let us know how the washable ones work for you!

I don't think we have had to clean one spill in the box at all! Will let you know about the pads when we get them! | |

| My Pud used pad for a while as he got older he goes outside, but him being a male he likes to mark his terrritory so now we use belly bands when he is loose in the house and they are wonderful!!! |

| We are having a bit of the problem you are, but our worst problem with the pad and Purina litter box is he lifts his leg and pees right over the top of the box and we end up with a puddle outside of the box, ugh!! What do those of you with "leg lifters" do? Julie and Tucker |

Wogger, I've read somewhere on here that some people put something in the center covered with a pee pad, and it gives them something to aim at. Some have used a 2 liter pop bottle or a coffee can, maybe it would be worth a try?
