| Anyone have an idea why Lillybelle would be going out to potty(wet) every hour? Over the past few days LillyBelle has been ringing her bell to go out ALOT and she's getting up at night to go. We went out last night at 9pm, she woke me up at 3am, 5am and 9am. Shes been getting me up for a week now. I decided to time her this evening and she is ringing her bell to go out every hour-and its about 20degrees out. She is actually peeing. She has been drinking a little more. I looked up diabetes in dogs - says frequent urination, thirst-wt loss, she hasnt lost wt, in fact she has gained. Anyone have any idea what this could be. |

Yorkie Lover Donating Member | My Sailor has done that before and it turned out to be a urinary track infection. The first day she acted normal but by the second day she acted like she did not feel very good. The vet gave her some meds and she was herself in a few days.

| Not sure about Yorkies, but in cats frequent urination sometimes means they have a urinary tract infection. I would take her to the vet to run some simple tests. Hope everything's fine, though! |

| Could be any number of things, but only your Vet. is qualified to tell you exactly what's going on. He will draw blood and test some things, but you do need to take her in. |

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | my first guess would be a UTI. take a sample of pee to the vet in the morning and ask them to do a urinalysis. you may have to take her in too for a check up depending on your vet. i'd rule out the easy stuff like a UTI before worrying yourself with the hard stuff.

| Dolly was doing the same thing a few weeks ago. She would go out and pee and squat 5 or 6 times. Normally she just would squat one time pee and that was it. Next day I found drops of blood on the kitchen floor. I took her to the vet and I had the vet do an ex ray also of the bladder. Mindy my previous Yorkie had the same symptoms but she had bladder stones. It took surgery to have them removed. Dolly had a urinary track infection. Antibiotics for 2 weeks and she is fine. She was doing much better on the 3rd day. Last edited by SteveW; 02-04-2007 at 06:29 PM. |
