| Question about harness. Hey everybody...I was wondering if there is a such thing as leaving a harness on your furbaby too long? or too much? I read somewhere that it may make the front legs bo? Not sure if there is any truth to this. Might sound like a silly question but i was curious! Bentley wears his ALOT, even to bed sometimes (he sleeps with me) The only time it's not on him is when i'm gone and he is in his crate. He is a very active 7 month old and we are still working on not running out the front door, and if his DID him (GOD FORBID) he would have his harness on w/ his name tag and all information. Plus the harness is really cute... I will try to post a pic later. Any ideas or suggestions on this?? |

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | I have never heard any of that. I know like you said it's not good to leave it on them when they are alone becuase they can get hurt. Lex wears his all the time until it's bedtime because it just makes it faster for him to go out the door when he has to do his business. So I personally don't see the harm in it.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | The reason for not wearing the harness ALL THE TIME is because they will lose the hair under the harness. The constant rubbing of the harness exfoliates the hair. Looks very odd when the harness is removed. Nancy |

| I can not leave the harness on more than a few hours cause their hair gets matted underneath.

Bentley's isn't tight @ at all...and i'm always checking it. He has out grown one and is on his second one now. I def don't want him wearing a collar, their little necks are just too fragile in my opinion. | |

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | I think if you go for the longer coat it can easily cause matting and breakage. I keep Lex's coat shorter so it's more manageable so that accounts for me not having problems.

| I custom make harnesses out of Dupioni Silk. I have found that silk is very gentle on the hair and causes way less matting than webbing or other types of fabric. |
