Belly Bands I want to make some belly bands for my mom's dog. But I have never bought one before and don't know what they look like or what they are made of... Are they just a strip of absorbant fabric that you wrap around them, probably attaches with velcro? Is the fabric flannel?

They are not necessarily absorbent but I guess they could be. Most are very simple in that they are just a band of lined fbric with a velcro closure, yes. You place a sticky adhesive sanitary pad in it before you put it on and change the pad if they wet it between potty trips. Some of them have suspender like straps too to make them look more like a little outfit and help keep them in place. Good luck.

i do know that they wrap around the belly, but you can put like a pad in it.i found this description on the net at snootypets.com.. hope it helps http://www.snootypets.com/SnootyPets...ge/10786-5.jpg Belly Bands for male dogs helps control lifting their leg or marking around your home. Velcro band goes around waist and covers their penis, thus inhibiting the urge to mark. Some customers use women's pantiliners in conjunction just in case of an accident. They can also be used as potty training aid or incontinent dogs. Machine Washable/Line Dry Last edited by Yorkie_GirL; 05-09-2005 at 09:25 AM.
