My furkids Donating Member | nail got stuck OUCH! Hubby and I were getting ready to meet some friends for appetizers...I put on a really pretty turquious sweater(kinda loopy looking) I had to get the furbabies settled before I left. I picked up Lillie and she got her nail caught in my sweater well, she started to freak out! I am holding onto her and trying to get her nail un-stuck. she was wiggling so much that the fiber kept twirling around her nail making it harder to get it out...So I yelled for hubby! (by this time Lillie was crying and I trying to hold her leg still so she doesn't rip her nail off) Eric came over and tried to get her un-stuck of course he is SO SLOOOWWW. In the meantime she is frantic...Finally I told him to get the scissors! He looked at me like I had 3 heads...I said cut it! cut my sweater....so I now have nice little hole in my sweater! and will be throwing it out! but, Lillie still has her nail!

| Oh dear. Poor baby. sorry about the sweater, but I think choosing the dog over the sweater was a good choice. LOL JK I hope it wasn't a favorite sweater. |

OMG! you should have heard her screeching!!! it was horrible and I'm trying to hold her still so we could get her nail out and the loop from the sweater kept twisting around her nail...the poor little thing..once hubby cut my sweater I held her for a bit and she just nuzzled her little face in my neck! I felt so bad...but, Lillie still has her nail and Mom lost a sweater! O well...

| Awww, poor baby! I'm glad that you cut the sweater, that was probably the only way to get her nail free once she became frantic Oh well, there's lots of sweaters out there, but there's only one Lillie

| I'd done the same thing! Much easier to buy a new sweater, than listen to them yell in pain. As you know I had to take Adonis to the vet today to get a nail cut off, that was just hanging. I think this actually happened about a month ago when he was laying on an afgan. Afgan has been put in the guest room, with the door shut. The only time it seemed to bother him, was when him and Venus played, and she got rough with him. Last night, I cut the hair off his paw, and found the problem. Was wayyy too short for me to mess with. All is well now, like nothing ever happend. He's doing fine. I know now, need to learn to watch stuff like this, and start clipping nails. I had no idea you needed to clip dogs nails till I got on this board! Learned sooo much on this board, that even books don't tell you! Thank God for this place! |
