| Yep, trim it. He will stay clean longer. Either take him to a groomer and request a sanitary trim or do it yourself. Even a yorkie in full coat usually gets pads and sanitary areas trimmed. If you do it yourself, clip the fur on and around his penis short. You can actually hollow out quite a bit under there without disturbing the look of his full coat and he will stay cleaner and be easier to keep brushed out.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Just want to add that my breeder suggests keeping it 1 to 1 ½ inches at the tip of the "lipstick". She says that this helps guide the urine so that it won’t get all over his other hair. |

| Stinky Boys I do my own grooming for Toby. I have to keep his hair on his belly trimmed short also. Basically I just shave off as much of that area as practical. I let him keep long chest hair. He has to be a man ya know. Those of you with male dogs, do you know where to get cute shirts that are cut for a male dog? I believe they are called gentleman cut. Toby is not big, almost 4 pounds, wears an XS and most shirts have to be rolled up or taken off before he goes outside to do his business. Last edited by rshamlet; 11-04-2006 at 01:50 PM. |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I have girls and trim them all the time - they love me doing it and they NEVER have the telltale pee smell - I can kiss tummies all day and would never know I'm that close to the 'area' lol |

| I have always clipped Harleys little wee wee hair bc it does get really long and man it can get stinky after a while. He's really good about it and just flops over to let me do it. I think appriciates it that way he doesn't have to clean it after potty breaks! Eww!
