| Holding still for bows When I try to put a band...let alone a bow..in Bella's hair she pulls and wiggles away. How can I get her to hold still. I am very new to the bow scene and have trouble myself without her moving. She doesn't have much hair, but I would like her to get used to the feeling while she is little... Thnks |

| I do the same thing as Gina, I put her on top of the bathroom counter...I started by using the baby scrunchies, those little material ones, until she got used to her hair being up...now I'm able to put the real bows in with the rubberbands..you have to keep trying, she'll eventually get used to it... |

| Barrettes Have any of you found any barettes that will stay in without the rubber band? I finally got a knot out of Little Bit's topknot that came from where the groomer put the band on her topknot. |

| I started out with Kizzy in my lap, brushing her and putting in the bows. She's never been that bad but she has gotten to big for me to do it in my lap so I just set her on the counter top and talk to her and tell her how pretty she is getting and she is soooooo good. most of the time she will lay down on the counter with her head down and that makes it much easier. afterwards, she always gets a few treats. I do maggie the same way but maggies hair isnt quiet as long on top as kizzys but I put it up anyway. I started them both early by sometimes just putting a latex band in their hair just to make sure they got use to something being there. Before maggie came I had no problem keeping kizzys in her hair, now I think they plot against me. I think as soon as they get outside, they say, you pull my bow out and i'll pull yours out. LOL. As soon as I get finished with them the first thing they do is make a jump for the bows on each others heads. It usually isnt long until they have them out and chewed on, so I ordered some from dog.com or jb pets just to wear at home and in the yard to pull out and they were 6.95 for 100 bows. nothing fancy, just a bow with the rubber bands. I have lots of nice ones i've ordered from law dog bows. she makes pretty ones and does a great job. I keep most of those for when I want them to look nice. but I think its easier if you start them early when their little to get use to having something in their hair even is it just a latex band. I'm still learning with their hair.
