| Questions and Updates on Coco! If you haven't seen the thread when i brought her home this is it: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=53433 1) Coco is now eating her dry food and drinking water out of her bowl. I am putting a little bit of water on the food so it could be a little moist. I am still giving her Nutri-Cal 3 times a day. 2) She is doing great on using the pee pad to go to the washroom each time. She only missed it once since she's been home. 3) But now shes sleeping on her pee pad instead of her bed! How do I get her to stay in her bed instead of the pee pad? I dont like closing the crate because then if she has to use the washroom she's locked in there. 4) She is now whining almost everytime she is in her x-pen. Especially in the middle of the night. Last night at 5:00 AM I had to take her and put her on my bed so she can stop whining. How can I make her stop whining? |

| lol Aww the lovely puppy stages , Gypsy use to sleep on the pee pad, so i put one of my t-shirts in her basket with my scent on, and that worked for her. As for the crying through the night, i know its hard but it is best to leave her in her pen, (you have to be cruel to be kind). Of course she loves her mama to bits, and wants to be with you, but you dont want her falling off the bed or anything. After a couple of weeks she should get use to sleeping in her crate, so hang in there, as it will be better in the long run |

| If you start to take her out of the expen when she crys she'll learn that's how she can get out. Bernie who is almost 5 monts will sometimes lie on the pee pad. Good luck!!

| Also , she may be getting a little chilled at night. Are you sleeping her in any clothing? I know mine haven't been sleeping to well since it is starting to get colder at night. I put a shirt on them at night and them seem to sleep alot better. Just hang in there it will get alot better. I like the idea to put a piece of your clothing in her bed too. |

| Mine never slept on their pee pads but Mimi whined all night long when we brought her home. Timmy was the total opposite..he loved sleeping in his crate. My fiancee would be the one to bring Mimi to the bed every time she whined. I mean my girl whined until she made herself throw up...thats how bad it was. So needless to say...they both sleep with us now |

| I've caught Venus laying on her pee pad too. She did this a lot, when I first put them down too. I think its her way of saying "mommie, you forgot to put my bed in the pen"! I put her crate beside my bed, that helped quieten her down a good bit. She wakes me when she wants to go out. When she can see me, she's just fine. But she throws a fit when I have her in her crate, and she can hear me, but not see me! I have a pen set up in the kitchen, where the laptop is, and the crate in the bedroom. Oh also, when they whine, and you give in to them, they have your number! They sure know what works on us, and what doesn't fast! |

My furkids Donating Member | Welcome to puppy world! Glad to hear she is eating better..Lillie would lay on her pee pad also. As for sleeping!!!! I was up every 2 hrs for the first 4 nights she was home. I understand that you must be exhausted but, letting her sleep with you at this young age may not be in her best interest. She could fall off the bed, pee or poop on the bed or worse...you could roll over on her! (I know a woman that did this, she only had her puppy less than a week, when she woke up the puppy was dead). As hard as it is going to be you should leave her in her pen/crate and just let her whine. I'm not sure if maybe the pennies in the can would work? Good Luck!
