My furkids Donating Member | Have you shaved the hair off of her ears? This is what the breeder did with both my girls when they were young (I now do the girls ears myself...Lillie(13 weeks) gets the entire ear shaved and Sadie(2 1/2yrs) gets just the top 1/3 of her ear shaved) Sadie's took a more time to stand up but, Lillie's stood straight up as soon as they were shaved...the breeder said she had never seen this happen before! IMO 14 weeks isn't that old to not have their ears upright. There are breeders on here that can be of more help..I'm sure she is just adorable no matter if her ears are up or down.

| Thanks! Her sister has one ear up and one ear down. I was just concerned being she is a larger pup, and I read the larger they are the longer it seems to take for their ears to stand up. Either way she is a beautiful girl! |

| shave them and tape them.... I read that you have a good chance of getting them to stay up by doing this before the age of 6 mths. After 6mths it becomes iffy

| At 14 weeks I think it is still possible that they will stand. My advice is to shave the top third of the ears to remove the weight and massage the ears frequently. I (or my vet) don't believe in taping because I don't believe it works, but if you do make sure you change the bandages frequently or you'll get a bacteria infection. |

| Gracie is 14 weeks, her left ear is down, her right ear is half way up. I keep the top 1/3-1/2 of her ears shaved, inside and out. If they are not up by the next vet visit on 9/30, I think I will ask my vet what she thinks about it. I'm not sure I'm entirely comfortable with taping.

| My Breeder (who is reputable) did not seem worried about it, and offered to start taping them for me before I pick her up on Friday. She said it does not hurt them. |

| Emma is 6 months and has one up and one down. I like her that way, and I don't want her other ear to go up. She's got the best of both ear styles |
