| Hair around the mouth and face... How do you keep them from breaking off the hair around thier mouth? I started putting gourmet dog food(nutro beef stew, and lamb stew etc..) and mixing it in with the girls dry food and they just love it but chloe gets the gravy stuff all in the hair around the mouth and her bangs if I dont have them in a barrette and she seems to be breaking off the hair around her mouth so now its short and sort of frizzy. How do I keep that from happening but also feed her the yummy dog beef and lamb stew that she loves so much?

| Is it from her food or from drinking water from a bowl. I dont know if its true, but I was always told to give them water in a big water bottle to keep the face from getting so wet and to keep the hair from turning colors and breaking off. I know Maddie is water bottle trained. It keeps her face dry. Like I said not sure if that is true but that is what I read on a website of a lady that did show yorkies and maltese. Just a thought...could be the water! |

| I finally got my three converted to all dry food for that very reason. I used to wet a baby wipe and wash their faces after eating but Sugar's face still stayed dirty looking for some reason. Maybe it will work for you though.

| The water bottle is a good idea. Carly is trained with a water bottle but I have it in her crate. She only drinks out of it when she is in there when we are not home. My question is do they make stands for the water bottles that aren't for the crates and for every day use? just wondering??

| Can you hand feed her? I know it's a pain but it doesn't take that long and keeps their mouths clean. That's the only way my 7 month old will eat either his wet or dry dog food. If I don't encourage him to eat by hand feeding he doesn't eat and eventually starts throwing up the orange stomach acid. He would just much rather being playing and is not that interested in eating. |

| Water bottle stand Hi.... I just converted to water bottles for my furkids..Their beards were always wet and icky looking.. They would also play in the water dish at times.. and it would be all over.. aside from them then, having no water until I saw their mess.. They took to the bottles right away.. I think they drink more now,.., (which can be good and bad..lol.. because I noticed they all pee more..) because their water always tastes fresh.. I wash the bottle and stainless steel spout out daily.. and refill with fresh water. We mounted ours on our kitchen wall....I bought a 16 oz oasis bottle and a 16 ounce bottle guard.. and my husband screwed it (The bottle guard) to our kitchen wall..I also have a water bottle on the inside and outside of our youngest pups crate.. so they have 3 bottles to drink from daily....I did come upon this site.. . I have come across the lixit bottles that were used for this stand in petco..so.. if someone is creative. I bet something like this stand could be made.... Here is a link,, http://www.bottlebabies.com/ Hope this helps,.,, |
