YT 5000 Club Member | Sooo I made.... the appt. for Thursday to have Chloe spayed and her hernias fixed. I am really worried, yet happy since she will be better off. Can anyone tell me how they were acting in the few days after surgery? We are leaving Sat. for vacation and I want to make her as comfortable as possible! Are there stitches that will need to be removed or are they dissovable?! I am glad I get the whole week off of work to spend time with her after the whole thing! Thanks for helping!!!

| She will not be back to herself by Saturday (two days after surgery??). I don't think I would take a dog on vacation or leave her that soon. I would probably delay the surgeries until after vacation. It sounds like you work full time so while it would be nice that you could be with her since your on vacation, I think I would choose to delay the surgery and just check on her at your lunch break. Definitely, don't leave her alone or board her that soon after surgery. |

| Sophie was feeling great the day after surgery. Almost to good. I had to make sure she didn't jump. Her stitches where dissolvable. I hope everything goes well with Chloe. I will be thinking about her. Have fun on your vacation.

YT 5000 Club Member | Thanks for the info you guys!!! The reason I don't want to wait is b/c of the hernias. The one by her right leg seems to have gotten bigger. And from the stuff that I have read, when it gets bigger than a dime is definitely when it needs to be fixed before something bad happens! Plus she will be held almost the whole time on vacation, and I want to be able to watch her closely. Thanks for the info you guys. What about stitches, is that what they use? Nevermind, I just saw the dissovable part!

| Tiffany was spayed and had teeth pulled week before last. She was fine 2 days afterwards! I was the nervous one! I hope everything goes well! Good luck!

| I've seen vets use the stitches that have to be removed (10 - 14 days after surgery) and the dissolvable kind so you will just have to ask your vet. In any event it should'nt interfere with the vacation. |

| If you plan on carrying her a lot I would get her a comfy bag. Holding her may make her sore. Just a thought.
