| Swimming? Does your furbaby enjoy swimming in pools? Yesterday Kona went for a quick splash while at my grandparents house. I quickly pulled her out but my bf said that we should have seen how well she was in the pool. I, on the other hand, didn't want to take any chances. I did give her a bath when we got home to wash the chlorine off of her. |

| I know that there are some yorkies that are very good swimmers, but I have always heard that in general, yorkies aren't very good swimmers. I have known several people whose yorkies have drowned Kona may be one of those that is a good swimmer, but good for you for being cautious! |

| I too have a pool, and my yorkies all go swimming because my kids want them too but we only put them in they swim a short distance across and then they are back on the deck and believe me they don't go on the swim deck to often because if they do my kids think Hey so&so wants to swim. I think all my yorkies hate water. |

| I put mine in the pool and they swam fine. It's just 20 inche deep, but the both swam cross. I've never heard of a dog that could not swim. |

| Coco is such a good swimmer but she doesn't like it...She prefers to stay dry. When I put her in the pool with us, she just looks so sad and swims to the nearest person to pick her up and she shakes forever..lol

| Lilli loves the water and tries to jump in all the time now Boozer likes it but not as much as Lilli I think the only reason he jumps in is cause of Lilli but they both are good swimmers and I never let them stay in long just a quick dip, and the cover goes back on everytime we are done with the pool. |

| I also forgot to mention that Coco goes nuts when we are all swimming. I don't know why. She is not a barker but she just whimpers and barks and runs around like a wild monkey. I think she thinks we are getting hurt

| Logan loves to be in the water. He doesn't really like to swim swim but he likes to splash around in the shallow water. I think if other people were in the water he would actually swim. P.S. there are dogs that can't swim. We had a scottish terrier when I was really little that I accidentally knocked into the pool & she started sinking like a stone. My brother ran over & grabbed her collar & held her head above water until an adult came that could lift her out.

| Tank likes to swim on his own terms. He jumped in our pond and swam around in a cirlce and right back out when he was hot (he smelled like pond afterwards...yuck!) and he swims in our neighbor's pool. He'll come right to me but doesn't understand to swim back to the stairs when he wasnt out. Instead he swims to the wall like he's going to magically float to the top. I make sure to watch them and I wouldn't ever let them swim without me around, but Tank loves it! Buckeye by Boston terrier on the other hand doesn't think much of water. He's like a motor boat in the wat ther though and splashed hard when he swims. I had them at the pool the other day while I was swimming laps and turned around to see Buckeye chasing me down the length of the pool like he was going to rescue me Once he realized that I was fine he didn't want in again. |

| Our furbaby loves the water. I am glad that we are always there with her cause last week she jumped into the pool with the solar blanket on. Scared us to death but she was having a great time racing back and forth across the pool. |

| Lexie, Peanut & Max all love to swim, but I watch them very carefully and don't let them in the deep end of our pool. Its extra deep on one end 14ft. so I but the rope up so they want go that far... My problem is keeping Lexie off the diving board & slide...LOL

| I filled the bathtub up once to see if Lola would swim and as soon as I put her in there she kind of...sank. then she started madly kicking her legs and arms trying to find SOME way out...bless her heart, I dont think we'll be trying that again.... |

| swimming my zoey loves to swim also but I got this safety device called SAFETY TURTLE......it is a little turtle you put on their collar and then there is a moniter in the house. if she should fall on accident the turtle gets wet and the moniter goes off, and boy is it ever loud. I feel so safe now with her around the inground pool. things happen too fast and I want my baby safe. if anyone is interested in getting one they sell them at petsmart.
